As the snow begins to fly, please remember as you park your car to make sure the front end of the vehicle is away from the sidewalk enough that the snow plow can clear the walks. If the front end is over the edge of the walk, it can’t be cleared.

Keeping You Safe This Winter We appreciate our residents and want to keep you safe as the winter season kicks in. The buckets of ice melt which have been placed in each of the stairwells are for resident use. We have placed them there so that if you are walking anywhere around the property prior to snow removal, you can take a scoop or two and sprinkle it along the walkway and parking area as you go to prevent slipping. Please take advantage of this anytime you find the walks and parking areas slippery or icy.

This time of year especially, we take time to reflect on all of the amazing things we have to be thankful for, whether it’s our loving families and friends or the warm home we arrive to at the end of a long day. Sometimes it’s important to remember that thankfulness is not only something we feel, but it can be something we do. Give your time. If you want to show someone you are grateful for them or something they have done, give them your time. Help them with something they are doing or a project they can use an extra hand with. Even taking the time to just stop by and say hello shows others you care. Give compliments. If you are thankful for the way someone has helped you, for example, in a grocery store or restaurant, tell them. A compliment and hearing that someone appreciates what you do can be a great confidence booster, and may be the first nice thing that person has heard that day. Intentionally call someone special. Don’t text or email – call. Tell someone about how much you appreciate who they are and what they have done for you. It can take a few minutes, but make someone’s whole day. Bake something. It’s an inexpensive way to show gratitude toward others. Baking up a plate of cookies or brownies is a nice way to say, “I appreciate what you.” Write a thank you note. Everyone loves receiving mail and a handwritten note shows that what this person has done is important enough to take the time to put it in writing. Don’t let this season go by without telling someone how much you appreciate the time that they take to make your life better.
