Patio Clean Up Time
FIRST DAY OF SPRING – MARCH 20, 2017 “Spring drew on...and a greenness grew over those brown beds, which, freshening daily, suggested the thought that Hope traversed them at night, and left each morning brighter traces of her steps.” Charlotte Brontë– Jane Eyre
REMINDER! Daylight Savings Time begins on March 12, 2017. Be sure to turn your clocks one hour ahead!
Spring time means outdoor clean up time. Please be sure to check your patio to make sure there is no trash, dead plants, or other objects which should not be out there. Also please take the time to sweep your patios of leaves that may have accumulated there. Thank you for helping to keep our property beautiful!
Crock Pot Smothered Pork Chops If you’re looking for an easy, delicious way to cook pork chops, this is a recipe you will want to try. Cooked in a crock pot, these pork chops are easy to prepare and will have dinner on the table in no time. Ingredients: 4 bone-in pork chops 1 oz. packet onion soup mix 1 – 14 oz. can chicken broth, low sodium 1 – 10.5 oz. can cream of chicken soup, low sodium 1 oz. packet dry pork gravy mix 1 tsp. garlic powder To thicken gravy: 3 tbsp. cornstarch 3 tbsp. cold water
Directions: In a 5-6 quart slow cooker, combine onion soup mix, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, and pork gravy mix. Wisk together until mixed well (don’t worry if there are still some lumps as these will go away during cooking). Season both sides of the pork chops with a little garlic powder. Place pork chops in slow cooker, spreading them out as much as possible and moving them below the gravy mixture. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours. Just before the pork chops are done, whisk together the corn starch and cold water in a small bowl. Once it is smooth, pour it in with your pork chops in the slow cooker and stir gently. Cover and switch slow cooker to high and cook another 30 minutes or until gravy has thickened. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice. Recipe from www.thecountrycook.net
THANKFUL FOR GREAT NEIGHBORS Having great neighbors is something to definitely be thankful for, especially in an apartment community where there are so many people coming and going with different schedules. One of the great things about great neighbors is that they are respectful of one another and understand that, while they may want to turn up that new stereo they just got, their neighbor may be sleeping after a long shift or have just put their young child down for a nap. In order to help keep everyone on the same page with what the expectations are for noise on the property, we remind residents of the following: Laundry should be done during the hours of 7 am and 10 pm. Believe it or not, one complaint we receive is from resident’s whose neighbor’s doing laundry after these hours, which can get noisy. Residents in upstairs units can help keep the noise level down by removing boots or clunky shoes when entering their apartment, especially late at night. Making sure not to purposely drop heavy items helps not to startle the downstairs residents as well, and is greatly appreciated. Please be aware that when you are talking or visiting in the stairwell or entry way of your building, your conversations may be heard by others in the area so if it’s during quiet hours, take the conversations inside. This also is the same for patio areas. Stereos and TV’s must be kept at a reasonable noise level. If you are someone who loves to have the volume turned up when watching a great movie or gaming, please consider your neighbors point of view. You may love that movie, but it may be disturbing their ability to relax and unwind after a long day. If you are having issues with a neighbor’s noise levels, please consider going and politely explaining to your neighbor the problem. If the issue persists, please be sure to contact the leasing office.
