Crock Pot Smothered Pork Chops If you’re looking for an easy, delicious way to cook pork chops, this is a recipe you will want to try. Cooked in a crock pot, these pork chops are easy to prepare and will have dinner on the table in no time. Directions: Ingredients: In a 5-6 quart slow cooker, combine onion soup mix, chicken broth, cream of 4 bone-in pork chops 1 oz. packet onion soup mix 1 – 14 oz. can chicken broth, low sodium 1 – 10.5 oz. can cream of chicken soup, low sodium 1 oz. packet dry pork gravy mix 1 tsp. garlic powder To thicken gravy: 3 tbsp. cornstarch 3 tbsp. cold water
chicken soup, and pork gravy mix. Wisk together until mixed well (don’t worry if there are still some lumps as these will go away during cooking). Season both sides of the pork chops with a little garlic powder. Place pork chops in slow cooker, spreading them out as much as possible and moving them below the gravy mixture. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours. Just before the pork chops are done, whisk together the corn starch and cold water in a small bowl. Once it is smooth, pour it in with your pork chops in the slow cooker and stir gently. Cover and switch slow cooker to high and cook another 30 minutes or until gravy has thickened. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice. Recipe from www.thecountrycook.net
Saving the Grass! You Can Help! As we head into spring, we all look forward to seeing everything bloom and turn green outside. The green grass will be amazing after having all the snow on the ground for so long. Unfortunately, once the grass is green, we often get yellow/brown spots from where dogs have done their “business”. That being said there is a solution and we are asking dog owners on the property to consider using a product called Dog Rocks. These rocks are placed in the dog’s water bowl and by drinking the water the rocks are submerged in, the dog urine won’t burn the lawn. The rocks are 100% natural minerals, safe, completely natural rock, but proven to prevent urine lawn burns from dogs. They are available at Zamzow’s as well as online at www.dogrocksus.com. If you would like more information, you may go online or stop by Zamzow’s or the Leasing Office. We did write about this last year in the newsletter (thanks to the great recommendation from a current resident), but felt it would be a good time to remind dog owners of how they can help make Gramercy Villas a great place to live!

PET POLICY REMINDER Spring brings with it not only nice weather, but also lots of cute puppies and kittens. As we go into this season, we find it important to remind our residents that all animals in an apartment must be reported to the leasing office. There is a $350 security deposit per pet and $10 per month pet rent. All animals added to the lease MUST be over one year old and under 100 lbs. Additionally, we do have breeds that are restricted from the property. If you have an animal in your apartment that is not on your lease, you will receive a lease violation, in addition you will be charged for any damages the animal may do to the property – indoors or out (including damage to landscaping). All animals MUST be identified on your lease. Also, any animal waste must be picked up immediately per your lease agreement and Meridian City Code. Multiple lease violations will result in the termination of a lease. Please be sure to keep this policy in mind if you are considering adding a furry friend to your home.
FIRST DAY OF SPRING – MARCH 20, 2017 “Spring drew on...and a greenness grew over those brown beds, which,
freshening daily, suggested the thought that Hope traversed them at night, and left each morning brighter traces of her steps.” Charlotte Brontë– Jane Eyre
