Kitchen Touch-Ups Made Easy
EASIEST EVER BLUEBERRY CREAM CHEESE POUND CAKE THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE RECIPES FOR A SPRING BRUNCH. IT’S EASY AND DELICIOUS! Ingredients: 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix ¼ cup white sugar 3 eggs 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature ½ cup vegetable oil 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 ¼ cups blueberries Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a 10 inch Bundt pan. 2. In a large bowl, stir together cake mix and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in eggs, cream cheese, oil and vanilla. Beat on low speed until blended. Scrape bowl and beat for 4 minutes on medium speed. Stir in blueberries. Pour batter into prepared pan. 3. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.
Cleaning the flat top cooking surface can be difficult if you don’t know what to use to clean it. You don’t want to scour and scratch it, but you definitely need something that will remove built up residue and gunk that has adhered itself to the surface. Well, this tried and tested method works great and will make that cooktop shine. Using a small bowl, add baking soda and just enough hydrogen peroxide to make a paste. Work the paste around in a circle on your flattop cooking surface, concentrating on the areas that have cooked-on residue. Allow the baking soda mixture to sit on the surface for about 5 minutes. The baking soda will absorb the grease and the hydrogen peroxide will help to lift the residue. Then wipe the surface to gather up the baking soda and dispose of it. Using a wet, warm cloth, wipe it down to remove any remaining baking soda or residue. Buff with a dry rag. While you’re at it, you can get to the inside of that microwave that’s gotten food splattered on it. It’s as easy as taking a microwaveable bowl with 1-2 cups water combined with 2 tablespoons of vinegar. Put the bowl in the microwave and turn it on for 4 minutes. When the timer goes off, don’t open the door. Keep the microwave closed for an additional two minutes to let the steam do its thing. After two minutes, carefully remove the bowl with a kitchen mitt, as it will be hot. Wipe down the inside of the microwave with a warm, wet cloth. Take the glass turntable from inside the microwave and wash it with warm water in the sink. Do not use cold water, as this can crack or break the glass. Replace it in your sparkling clean microwave and enjoy!

Help Us Help Our Property We’ve asked, we’ve reminded, we’ve put up notices, but we still are seeing a ridiculous amount of pet waste on the property that is not being cleaned up. To those of you who do clean up after your pet, we offer our deepest thanks. If you are a pet owner who doesn’t, please be responsible and clean up immediately after your pet. It is a requirement, by Meridian City Code for pet owners to immediately clean up after their animal. You can be fined. If you see someone not cleaning up after their pet, please feel free to remind them that this is their responsibility. Let the leasing office know if you are aware of a resident that is not cleaning up after their pet, so we can deal with them directly. We want all of our residents to enjoy the entire property, including the landscaping, but this has become an issue we are receiving complaints about and need your help with so that we can make our property the best it can be!
PATIO REMINDER EARTH DAY APRIL 22, 2016 “Here is your country. Cherish these natural wonders, cherish the natural resources, cherish the history and romance as a sacred heritage, for your children and your children’s children. Do not let selfish men or greedy interests skin your country of its beauty, its riches or its romance.” — Theodore Roosevelt
At Gramercy Villas, we are proud to say that we are one of the top luxury apartment communities in Meridian, Idaho. Many potential residents, as well as visitors of our valued residents drive by the property on a daily basis and when they do, we want them to be impressed by what they see. You can help with this, by ensuring that your patio is kept clean and free from storage or other items that are not patio furniture or planters. In the lease agreement, it states that the patios and balconies are an extension of the living space and are not to be used for storage bins or cardboard boxes. Additionally, the patio or balcony areas are not to be used for suspending things such as clothing or fabric. Propane tanks must be connected to a grill, otherwise they are not allowed. We are in a homeowner’s association and are required to abide by the CCR’s established with the association and frequent inspections are done. We encourage residents to make use of this space for outdoor furniture, planters and flower pots. If you have a questions as to whether an item is OK to leave on the patio, just stop by the leasing office and ask.
