FINAL POOL DAYS!!! Starting after the Labor Day weekend, the Faith Landing pool will only be open on the weekends. The pool will be closed completely for the season on September 26th. FILL UP BREAKFAST MUFFINS Some days it can be hard to get everyone to grab some breakfast in the morning before they have to hurry to catch the bus or get to work on time. This make ahead recipe will fill everyone’s tummy and give them a great start on their day.

Ingredients: ½ cup packed brown sugar 2 carrots, shredded ½ cup rolled oats 2 bananas, mashed ½ cup shredded coconut 1 zucchini, shredded ½ cup chopped pecans or ¼ cup vegetable oil walnuts ¼ cup Greek yogurt ½ cup dried cherries or 2 eggs blueberries 1 cup whole wheat flour ¾ tsp. cinnamon 1 ½ tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt ¼ tsp. ground ginger Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease 12 muffin cups. Mix carrots, banana, zucchini, vegetable oil, yogurt, and eggs together until well blended. In a separate bowl, blend flour and baking soda. Add the brown sugar, oats, coconut, pecans, cherries, cinnamon, salt and ginger into the flour mixture and mix well. Combine the flour mixture with the egg mixture and mix until fully incorporated. Scoop the batter into the muffin cups. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean and the edges are slightly brown (15-22 minutes). Cool for 15 minutes before removing from the muffin tins and moving to a wire rack to continue cooling. Recipe modified from AllRecipes.com and KatieTries2Cook

IS IT AN EMERGENCY? The Faith Landing Emergency After-Hours phone number has been getting a large number of after-hours emergency calls for maintenance repairs that are NOT emergencies. In order to reduce the number of non-emergency calls to the emergency line, we want to remind our valued residents of what events would warrant an emergency call to our after-hours emergency line:  Water leaking uncontrollably anywhere in the apartment  No hot water  Toilet stopped up – only if you have one bathroom. If you have two bathrooms, this is not an emergency.  A window or door damaged in such a way as to not allow you to secure your apartment  The heater is not working (in the cold weather). If you do call the after-hours emergency line and maintenance is called out to find that there is not a valid maintenance emergency, residents can be charged the maintenance fee. Please remember in the event of a fire, medical emergency, or active criminal activity to dial 911!

MAINTENANCE CHARGES On a property the size of Faith Landing, our maintenance crew has quite a bit to take care of. In the course of their day it can be anything from replacing a broken garbage disposal to unclogging a stopped up toilet. Many of these repairs are done at no cost to our residents; however, there are many repairs done that will be charged back to the resident. The repairs that take place at no charge to our residents are repairs that are made due to normal wear and tear of the equipment or apartments, such as water heaters not heating water, an air conditioner not cooling, or an appliance not doing its job correctly. There are repairs however, that do come at a resident charge. These are repairs that take place because of negligence by the residents. Examples of this may be:  Tub or sink drain clogged up with hair or other items.  Toilets that are clogged.  A garbage disposal that is not working because it has been overfilled, or has items in it which should not be, such as bottle caps, pieces of utensils, a nail.  Items within the apartment which have been broken by the resident, such as blinds, doors, light bulbs. If you have a question as to whether something is a resident charge, be sure to ask when you place your maintenance request. If you do have a resident charge for maintenance, please remember that when you come in to pay rent, any money received by the leasing office will first go to any outstanding charges, such as maintenance charges.
