If you haven’t been to Eleven lately, you haven’t been to Eleven! Reunion Resort & Club’s signature rooftop restaurant, Eleven, has undergone quite the transformation over the past few years. Originally a tapas bar, it has evolved into our signature steakhouse, featuring prime cuts of beef with rubs, sauces, and other available enhancements to add to your enjoyment. In addition to unveiling a revised menu in March, Eleven is also introducing a new concept for the patio and pool deck soon! Many of you have either noticed or experienced the new patio seating on the patio, including new chaise lounges and high top tables with swivel bar stools. This new seating allows Members and guests to relax and lay back to look at the stars or sit above railing height for an improved view of Reunion and the surrounding sights, including the nightly theme park fireworks. We plan to make this an entirely separate area with its own menu – what a beautiful location to enjoy appetizers, drinks and desserts only! We are also reupholstering the soft chair cushions and sofa cushions for added comfort, and will reserve the balconies that overlook the porte-cochère for Members and guests who would like to smoke a cigar while at Eleven.

Membership Reminder MEMBERSHIP CARDS
Spring has arrived, and summer is just around the corner–it’s the season for cooling off in one of Reunion Resort & Club’s many swimming pools or at the Water Park! As a reminder, all Members must have a Membership ID card to use the Club pools or enter the Water Park. Members may bring up to 4 (four) accompanied guests into the Water Park at no charge; additional guests are $10 per person and may be charged to your Membership account. In addition, please remember that per the Reunion Resort & Club Rules and Regulations, “A Membership card may not be used by any person other than the person to whom it is issued. Membership cards are not transferable.” If you would like to provide an unaccompanied guest with access to the pools or Water Park, please submit a Houseguest Form. Houseguest Forms and all pertinent details of the Houseguest Program may be found online through the Member’s Only website.

Men’s and Ladies Club Championship (2 RMS events) After an eventful January, we stepped right into the month of February with the Men’s and Ladies Club Championship. The tournament had to be postponed due to the heavy rain storm we had. This traditional two round tournament was made even more special as it also counted for Reunion Member Series points. With 32 participants, there were 2 clear Champions that stood amongst the competitors. In the Men’s division, it was a tight battle between TJ Cosgrove and Timothy Colanta. It all came down to the final round where Timothy Colanta won by and shot and finished the tournament with a two round total of 143 gross (71,72) to claim the 2015 Men’s Club Champion while Brenda Rendleman earned the 2015 Ladies Club Champion award with a two round total 151 (78,73). Congratulations to our new Club Champions!
Mulligans, Manicures and Martinis The lady participants began the day with a round of golf followed by a first class lunch accompanied with some cocktails! The winners of this two person best ball were Roberta Sentel and Patti Lee firing a gross 68. Great job ladies!
Sweetheart Golf Tournament Our annual Sweetheart event was a great way to spend the day amongst fellow friends and also to practice teamwork skills in preparation for the Husband and Wife Club Championship. This year’s format was a two person scramble with alternate shot making every shot count. Starting Valentine’s Day on the right foot was the team of Mary Lynn Sertich and David Fitzgibbons who won gross (65) and Bob and Helen Eichorn winning net in a scorecard playoff (59).
Husband and Wife Club Championship To end the month of February we held the Husband and Wife Club Championship with 16 couples competing. The format for the first round was Best Ball followed by a Modified Chapman in the second round. After day one the defending champions Marshall and Melodi Sheffer were trailing by a shot behind Robin and Connie Dodson and Darryl and Brenda Rendleman. Marshall and Melodi Sheffer shot a final round 74 to hold onto the Husband and Wife Club Championship for 2015 with a 2 round gross total of 148. This year’s net prize winners were Jack and Mary Paton shooting a 2 round net total of 128.

Make sure your putter is properly fitted Most of the putters we use are hand me downs from a relative or bought out of a store and have not been properly fitted for the golfer; as a result, we are invariably using putters that are too long for us and therefore, we need to compensate within our stroke. Take advantage of putter technology Many of us are using blade style putter technology, when in fact, we would benefit from more of a mallet style putter, which helps forgive our mistakes. Shaunessy Giddings Shaunessy Giddings Wins February 2015 Reunion Club Member Recognition Program (MERP) Award At the March Member Reception, Shaunessy received a Reunion gift card and special name tag showing that she is a Member Employee Recognition Program recipient. She will also be considered along with future 2015 MERP recipients for one of the annual awards. Congratulations, Shaunessy! The Member Employee Recognition Program (“MERP”) gives Members the opportunity to recognize deserving Reunion employees. Every outlet has ballots available for you to nominate and describe why you think the employee should be the next winner. Remember to take advantage of this opportunity and let them know we notice and appreciate their efforts to make us happy to be here at Reunion. Although only one employee receives this monthly award, all of the employees nominated receive peer and management recognition at special employee breakfasts throughout the year. Shaunessy has been with Reunion for almost three and a half years as a Beverage Cart Attendant in the Golf Operations Department, and anyone who plays golf at Reunion surely knows her. One nominating ballot for this month’s MERP award read “Shaunessy is always fun to interact with and a great cart server. Every year I bring customers to Reunion to golf. Shaunessy made Reunion golf more fun for us and our customers and they all like coming back to Reunion every year.”

Dealing with bad calls Whether you are a tennis league player or just a weekend warrior, all tennis players have been in the situation of a bad line call. Sometimes these calls don’t make a difference, and then there are those times when they can actually change the outcome of a match. No matter what your case is, you should know how to deal with these situations when they arise. When the first bad line call happens, you should give your opponent the benefit of the doubt. It could be something as simple as maybe you saw the call wrong yourself. Maybe you wanted the ball to be in so badly that you actually saw it in… even though it wasn’t. The first bad call isn’t the time to blow up and make a fool of yourself; simply take mental note of it and continue the match as if it were called correctly.
Now, when the second bad call happens, and you are almost positive about your shot, that is the time to show you are not sure if they are correct. Make sure to do this in a professional manner; simply ask them if they are sure and if it was close. This will not only show that you are watching their calls, but it will also put doubt into their line calls and you will most likely be the beneficiary. Once you have reached the point in the match where there have been 2-3 bad calls, now is the time to take a more drastic approach. By more drastic I mean do more than just question your opponent. You are not allowed by USTA rules to go on the other side of the net unless you are invited, but you most certainly can approach the net and look for the mark. You should also ask your opponent to show you where they see it out, and they should show you. All things said and done, tennis is a sport that is based on honesty. If someone wants to cheat in order to win, they will be able to do so.

Proper foot attire is required (no flip flops, bare feet or open-toed shoes). Please note: rentals begin at 10 am and end one hour before the park closes.
Junior Lifeguard Program This 2 hour program is for children 6-15 to get a jump start into learning the basics of Lifeguarding. This class is intended for intermediate or advanced swimmers only.
