Dear Members, I would like to officially welcome everyone to summer at Reunion. Let me start by wishing all of our dads a very happy Father’s Day. This year, give Dad a break from the grill and let us do the cooking—stop by the Clubhouse for our Father’s Day Cookout from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. If you can’t make the Father’s Day cookout, our spa is offering specials for the entire month of June with treatments that will pamper dad like a king. June also brings us lots of other exciting family activities. Compete in our water volleyball tournament at the Water Park on June 13. You can also spend time with your family watching a movie under the stars on the Grande Lawn on June 27. For more information about our June events, please contact your membership office. Our public relations team has also been hard at work getting the coverage for Reunion and our sister properties. We are excited to share these great stories about our properties: Fun Central, Small Market Meetings Top 100 Tennis Resorts & Camps For 2015, Tennis Resorts Online Orlando’s Memorial Day Staycations, Edible Orlando People on the Move, HOTELS Magazine People on the Move: Wendy Wade, Orlando Business Journal No room key, no problem – beat the heat at these swanky Orlando hotel pools, Orlando Weekly Summer Escapes to Reunion Resort, The Orlando Date Night Guide Here’s to a happy summer! frankly golf
As you know, putting is 45% of your score. At the Frankly Golf Putting Academy, we want to help you improve this part of your game. Here are three easy ways you can shave strokes off your game. Make sure your putter is properly fitted Most of the putters we use are hand me downs from a relative or bought out of a store and have not been properly fitted for the golfer; as a result, we are invariably using putters that are too long for us and therefore, we need to compensate within our stroke. Here at the Frankly Golf Putting Academy, we make sure that your putter is properly fitted so you can perform to the best of your ability. Take advantage of putter technology Many of us are using blade style putter technology, when in fact, we would benefit from more of a mallet style putter, which helps forgive our mistakes. So make it easier on the green by testing out one of our Frankly Frog putters, right here at the Putting Academy, which will help stabilize your stroke and provide a larger forgiveness zone for your putts. Take a putting lesson It’s time to join the many golfers of varying skill levels that have taken putting lessons from us here at the Frankly Golf Putting Academy. We will help you improve your putting quickly and easily. Unlike the full swing, with putting you can see big improvements in a very short period of time, as well as develop an understanding of how your stroke should move. To book an appointment, please call 407.396.4004 or just call in!
To book a putting lesson at the PAD, call 407.396.4004. Individual and Group lessons are available. franklygolf.com/golfequipmentqaarchive.aspx or stop by the Putting PAD on your next visit to Reunion Resort!

Slice Serve
Have you ever been playing a match and were looking for a quick weapon to add to your game? The slice serve is one that can keep your opponent guessing and also gives you some advantages.
gath erings | 16
First, let’s talk about how to hit a slice serve. The first thing that must happen is that you have to toss the ball a little bit out to the left, more so than with a flat serve (these are all in reference to a righty). Once you have the toss in the right spot then you have to “peel the orange” when hitting the ball. This gives you the idea of coming around the ball rather than straight through it. With both of these things combined you have to be sure to
aim way more to the left. Initially, you will feel like it is all wrong, but once you get used to hitting it, your body will adjust all on its own, allowing you to actually aim where you want. What are the advantages of hitting a slice serve? The first is that the ball will be moving from your opponent’s right to left, making it much harder to hit as it is not a straight line. Often they are trying to hit a forehand return, but this moves directly into their body, giving you a weak return or even a free point. The last advantage is the margin of error that you get over the net when hitting this serve. The ball travels on average a foot to two feet higher over the net, which allows you to spin it in rather than hit it down. Great for a second serve once you have it down.
