GREETINGS!
Dear Grand Pacific Resorts Owners and Families,
As we close another year together, I find myself reflecting on the many ways we have all continued to adapt, grow, and thrive.
This special edition of Time Together marks the 10th anniversary of this publication, and the pages within are dedicated to celebrating the remarkable memories we've created together over the last decade. Each story is a testament to the journey we've shared, and of all the people and places that have shaped and inspired us along the way.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Your continued trust and loyalty mean the world to us. It is truly an honor to serve as your vacation partner, and we look forward to helping you create many more cherished memories in the years ahead.
My hope as we head into a new year is that your home away from home remains a truly restorative place where you can disconnect from the demands of daily life and savor the moments that nourish your soul with those who matter the most.
On behalf of all of us here at Grand Pacific Resorts, we wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season. May the year ahead bring you even more moments of peace, connection, and adventure.

Make Time for Vacations
by Kristina Grubb
From the moment our family of four arrived in Lake Tahoe, we were in awe of its natural beauty. Surrounded by towering trees and a brilliant blue sky with the crisp mountain air filling our lungs, it felt like stepping into a dream.
It reminded us of our new hometown, Bend, Oregon, but on a much grander scale. Lake Tahoe’s landscape is like an endless playground, with new adventures waiting at every turn. The small-town mountain charm, paired with the convenience of shopping, dining, and entertainment, created the perfect balance for our getaway.
As an outdoor-loving family, we wasted no time diving into the many adventures the area has to offer. We explored Olympic Valley and drove around the lake, stopping at beautiful beaches along the way. Lake Tahoe is full of stunning spots, and we made sure to take in as many as we could. From refreshing dips in the lake to a serene hike at Rainbow Trail, every corner of the area had something magical to offer. One of the most exciting moments was when my husband, Dan, and our two girls joined some locals for a thrilling cliffjumping experience at Sand Harbor—a great way to embrace the lake’s more rugged side.
Our evenings were just as special, whether we were playing games together, relaxing by the fire at the lodge, or unwinding in the soothing hot tub. One of the most memorable places was the dock at the resort, where we watched the sunset over the lake. The colors of the sky blending with the shimmering water created a perfect moment of peace, something we’ll always cherish as a family. We made it a tradition to enjoy the sunset each evening, either from our resort or while biking around the valley, always ending the day with a sense of contentment and gratitude.
Another unforgettable experience was when we participated in a local “Paint the Lake” event on the beach, where an artist talked us through painting the backdrop of the lake while learning about the efforts of Keep Tahoe Blue to help preserve its pristine waters.
Paint the Lake
https://youtu.be/Vo5umocIkf4
An unexpected surprise during our trip was
Dan’s fascination with a rare Lahontan cutthroat trout that he saw being caught by a fly fisherman during our rafting trip. This led him down a rabbit hole of research about this threatened species, reminding us of the importance of preserving nature. We also spotted an Ibis—an unusual migratory bird—along the river, adding to the area’s sense of wonder and surprise.
When it came to dining, we discovered the charm of local eateries. We began our trip with a delicious lunch at Buoy and Trap Seafood Market in Truckee, where the owner warmly welcomed us and shared the story behind their fresh, sustainable menu. The poke bowls were a standout, and the girls loved the New England-style clam chowder. We enjoyed dining at a mix of spots—some cozy and intimate, like Auld Dubliner, a traditional Irish pub, and others lively and fun, like Tremingo, a family-friendly Mexican restaurant where we even got to participate in a Bingo game.
One of our most exhilarating experiences was whitewater rafting on the Truckee River. Despite having mixed emotions before we started—ranging from nervousness to excitement—the adventure turned out to be pure joy. The rapids were thrilling, and the guide ensured we all felt totally safe and prepared. The smiles, the laughter, and the pure excitement of sharing that experience together created a memory that will last a lifetime.
Our favorite family activity was kayaking. We paddled along the shoreline near sunset, with the girls laughing uncontrollably after tipping their kayaks a few times. Watching them bond over such simple joys was a reminder of how lucky we are to share these moments as a family.
Being Owners with Grand Pacific Resorts has been equally special. The timeshare we inherited from my mother, who passed away in 2011, has become a cherished part of our family’s journey. My mother and I used to visit Napa on mother-daughter trips, and after inheriting her timeshare, it became foundational to our own family vacations. It has given us the gift of time together, and we cherish the memories we create during every trip.
Being timeshare Owners with Grand Pacific Resorts has added a sense of continuity and comfort to our vacations. We always know we’re staying at quality resorts with thoughtful amenities and activities, making every trip a seamless and enjoyable experience. The ability to exchange our timeshare also inspires us to explore new destinations, knowing there’s always another family vacation on the horizon.
Some of our most treasured memories include a life-changing road trip from Southern California to Branson, Missouri, where we won a free week through a Father’s Day contest. That trip introduced us to country music and the beauty of Branson, leaving a lasting impact on our family.
Another unforgettable memory was our trip to Hawaii in 2022, where we were able to show our girls the culture and beauty of the islands. Tragically, just a year later, the town of Lahaina was devastated by wildfires, reminding us of the preciousness of time and the importance of making memories with loved ones while we can.
OEnjoying the Journey
wnership has allowed us to continue our family traditions that will last for generations. We’ve traveled together since our girls were young, and we hope to pass the gift of travel onto them when they build their own families. Time is a gift we don’t take for granted, and we are committed to making the most of every trip, adventure, and moment spent together.
Looking back on our journey with Grand Pacific Resorts, it feels like we’ve grown up together. It’s been an incredible ride, and we’re so grateful for the experiences that have enriched our family’s life and all the memories we’ve created together. We look forward to making many more. Thank you, Grand Pacific Resorts, for being such a big part of our story.
Here’s to many more adventures ahead.

Calistoga
Nestled in the heart of California wine country approximately one hour from Napa lies Calistoga, a town known for its lush vineyards and natural hot springs that boasts a history as rich as its soil.
FROM ORIGINS TO LEGACY
Early Inhabitants and Settlement
Long before European settlers arrived, the region was home to the Wappo people, who thrived on the land’s abundant resources. In 1836, the area began to attract settlers, with pioneer Samuel Brannan establishing a thriving community. He recognized the potential of Calistoga’s mineral waters, laying the groundwork for its future development.
1862: The Birth of Calistoga
The town’s official founding can be traced back to 1862 when founder Samuel Brannan opened the first bath house and hotel. The establishment played a pivotal role in Calistoga's identity as a health resort, drawing visitors from near and far seeking rejuvenations in the natural mineral waters.
1868: Arrival of the Railroad
The introduction of the California Pacific Railroad was a pivotal turning point for Calistoga. This critical development made the town more accessible and led to a surge in tourism that would transform its economy. With easier access to the area, visitors flocked there to experience its hot springs, scenic beauty, and burgeoning wine culture. The railroad also allowed vineyard owners to move their products more efficiently, promoting the growth of local wineries and establishing Calistoga as a key transportation hub for the Napa Valley.
Living History
Old Faithful Geyser
One of Calistoga’s most iconic attractions is the Old Faithful Geyser, which has been captivating visitors since the late 19th century. This natural wonder erupts approximately every 30 minutes, shooting geothermal water high into the air, and is a reminder of the town’s volcanic origins.
Calistoga Spa Hot Springs
The Calistoga Spa Hot Springs is a historical landmark that dates back to days of the town’s inception, offering visitors a chance to unwind in its mineral-rich waters and indulge in rejuvenating treatments. The spa's legacy as a wellness destination continues today, attracting those seeking both healing and relaxation.
The Napa Valley Historical Society
For those interested in diving deeper into Calistoga’s past, the Napa Valley Historical Society offers valuable insights through exhibitions and archives. Visitors are invited to explore artifacts, photographs, and documents that chronicle the region's history, showcasing its evolution from a small settlement to a thriving tourist destination.
A Contemporary Retreat
Wine Country Experience
Today, the Calistoga region boasts a variety of renowned wineries, tasting rooms, and vineyards, each offering unique varietals and experiences. Notable wineries like Castello di Amorosa, a medieval-style castle winery, and Chateau de Montelena, known for producing the award-wining wine that put Napa Valley on the world map.
Calistoga Farmers Market
Every Saturday morning, the Calistoga Farmers Market comes alive with local vendors offering fresh produce, artisanal goods, and hand-crafted products. This community event is not only a celebration of local agriculture but also a chance for visitors to experience the town’s vibrant culture.
Mount St. Helena
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to explore around Calistoga, including hiking trails leading to the summit of Mount St. Helena. Offering panoramic views of the Napa Valley, this hike is a rewarding experience for nature lovers that showcases the breathtaking landscapes that have long drawn people to the area.
EMBRACING THE FUTURE
As Calistoga continues to grow and evolve, its commitment to preserving its history and natural beauty remains strong. The town adheres to sustainable tourism practices, ensuring that future generations will enjoy its attractions for years to come.
From its rich past to its thriving present and hopeful tomorrow, Calistoga is a destination where history, vineyards, and nature perfectly intertwine.

TIPS FOR Tech-free Time
5 4 3 2 1 8 7 6
Do not disturb. Placing your phone on this mode prevents you from receiving any calls or notifications other than from the people you specify.
Establish a phone-free zone. Have family and friends stash their devices before sitting down for a meal together so that you can enjoy uninterrupted quality time.
Use a standard camera. Taking pictures the traditional way helps eliminate the need for your phone while still allowing you to capture all those memorable moments.
Host a game night Bring out the board games, playing cards, or puzzles for some screen-free fun that's sure to result in some cherished vacation memories.
Put books by your bed. Reading only printed material at night gives your brain a breather and is also shown to help improve sleep quality!
Keep a journal. Swap 15 minutes of screen time for 15 minutes of writing. Note your favorite moments of the day or simply all the things you’re grateful for.
Send postcards. Rather than texting or posting your vacation updates online, make someone’s day by mailing them a hand-written surprise.
Try a digital detox. Consider leaving your phone behind during an outing or skipping social media until after your trip—you may be amazed at how liberating it feels!
LOGGED 1.1 Million Steps
OVER $43,000 RAISED
STEPS That Count
For the last 25 years, we’ve been honored to support Christel House, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing children living in impoverished communities around the world with educational opportunities.
This fall, our Associates participated in the annual Christel House Walk-A-Thon as they walked, jogged, biked, and exercised to raise awareness and funds for this incredible cause.
The walk-a-thon was another tremendous success this year. Our Associates logged an incredible 1.1 million steps and raised over $43,000! That’s enough to provide 17 students at Christel House Mexico City with a full year of school essentials like books, uniforms, lunches, transportation, healthcare, and academic counseling.
COVERS 1 Year FOR 17 Students
It's been so inspiring watching our Associates unite for such a worthy cause. These efforts will ensure children receive the educational resources they need, and I’m incredibly proud of the difference we’ve made.

OF CELEBRATING THE BEST
We hosted our 25th Annual Best of the Best Gala in February at the Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa. Every year, we recognize our Associates who go above and beyond to exemplify our corporate BE EPIC values of Balance, Empowerment, Enthusiasm, Passion, Integrity, and Consistency.
The Champions arrived from across our family of resort locations to attend the gala, including from as far away as Hawaii. The evening began with a cocktail hour followed by a dinner, before culminating in an awards ceremony in which Co-President, David Brown, and Chief Operating Officer, Nigel Lobo, presented each of the Champions with a trophy.
“This is my favorite night of the year. Our Associates embody our philosophy of ‘enriching lives by creating experiences worth sharing.’ Magical things happen among families while vacationing at our resorts, and our Champions are making that happen,” said Grand Pacific Resort Co-President, David Brown.
It was also the first-ever gala to be livestreamed, allowing proud family members, friends, and fellow Associates to watch the festivities and cheer on their loved ones remotely!

“I’m delighted to have our Grand Pacific Resorts Associates once again be recognized for their outstanding performance,” said Nigel Lobo, RRP, Chief Operating Officer of Grand Pacific Resorts. “Their unwavering passion is the reason behind this honor and reflects our ongoing commitment to creating experiences worth sharing for the tens of thousands of owner families that we’re honored to serve every year.”
A huge congratulations to all of our incredibly deserving winners and finalists!
Moments
Every day across our resorts, our Associates go above and beyond for Owners, Guests, and one another, embodying our BE EPIC values of Balance, Empowerment, Enthusiasm, Passion, Integrity, and Consistency. It’s stories like these that demonstrate our ongoing commitment to providing heartfelt service and motivate us to continue creating exceptional vacation experiences.
Read some examples of our BE EPIC values in action.
Trino Peralta | Maintenance Supervisor at Capistrano Surfside Inn
While working on maintenance week projects, Trino received a call from a neighboring resort property asking for help with leaking windows. He quickly shifted gears and headed straight over to the resort. His inspection revealed that two of the four windows that needed repairs required scaffolding to safely access; however, he got to work right away on the windows he could reach. Once he returned to Capistrano Surfside Inn, Trino picked up his projects once again, working well into the night to prepare for an approaching storm.
Claudeen Obar | Housekeeping Supervisor at Makai Club Resort
When a couple arrived to celebrate their upcoming wedding on the island, Claudeen went above and beyond to make their stay extra special. She gathered roses, chocolates, and even crafted origami swans to create a romantic setting in their unit. Her thoughtful gesture turned their celebration into a truly unforgettable experience, and they were so grateful for the ways he went the extra mile to make their vacation extraordinary.
Raymond Sanchez | Front Office Manager at San Clemente Inn
One early morning, disaster struck when a pipe burst in a unit kitchen. Raymond, the only Associate working the front desk at the time, immediately sprang into action. He rushed to the unit, finding it completely submerged, but that didn’t stop him. He waded into the water, working quickly as he assessed the situation. He contacted our Maintenance Team at a neighboring resort who guided him to the water shut-off for the building. He was able to stop the flooding and prevent any further damage while waiting for a plumber to arrive.
Montana Auerbach | Front Desk Agent at Coronado Beach Resort
Montana was a standout during a Guests’ stay. From their first call, she listened carefully to their needs and ensured they had the perfect room. Throughout the week, she became their go-to person, always cheerful and ready to help. Whether assisting at the front desk, arranging activities, or offering suggestions, her positive energy was contagious. Montana truly embodies the “BE EPIC” values and made their stay unforgettable.
We Our Housekeepers
From ensuring every last detail of your condo is perfect prior to each arrival, to always having clean linens on hand, our Housekeeping Teams are truly the heart of the house!
Even while working with reduced staff at times, our Housekeeping Associates continue to work tirelessly behind the scenes to provide Owners and Guests with the best vacation experiences.
Every year in September, each of our resorts dedicates an entire week, known as Housekeeping Appreciation Week, to express our immense gratitude for our Housekeeping Associates. All week, we treat them to surprises like sweet treats, catered meals, and gift baskets.
Then in December, our Housekeeping Teams from across Grand Pacific Resorts’ Southern California properties dressed up in festive Christmas-themed costumes and gathered for a fun-filled afternoon at the annual Housekeeping Olympics. Teams participated in friendly competitions like towel-folding origami and a speed bed-making relay race before enjoying delicious Mexican food, live mariachi music, and a chance to mingle with Associates from other properties.
