Good to be back! After the year that we’ve all had, it’s great to be finally looking forward to inviting you back to enjoy some really great shows at the lovely Grand Theatre from this September onwards. Although the venue’s been closed, we have been working hard from our kitchen tables and bedroom chairs to manage all the challenges that have been thrown at us. We’re extremely grateful for all the Government support that we’ve received to keep us afloat and invest in improving the Covid-safety and comfort of the theatre for you. This funding has also helped us engage audiences and participants ‘virtually’ with our YouTube channel athomewithyou.co.uk and many workshops and classes that have been running on Zoom. You can find out more by visiting blackpoolgrand.co.uk. Regular customers may notice that, whilst there are many new events in this brochure, some have simply moved from where they were last year to where they are now – three or four times in some cases! So, thank you for bearing with us. For new customers, there’s lots to choose from and we really hope you’ll take the plunge and try the fun and excitement of live performance: a shared experience of laughter and thrills. Go on – it’s allowed!! And buying a ticket is simply the very, very best way of ensuring that Blackpool’s iconic Grand Theatre bounces back and is here for future generations to celebrate, treasure and enjoy. So, if you can’t come yourself, why not treat someone else? We look forward to welcoming you – safely. Ruth Eastwood, Chief Executive Tel: 01253 290 190 Web: www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk Facebook: /blackpoolgrand Twitter: @Grand_Theatre

It’s Time to Shine Your safety and comfort are of paramount importance to us: we want you to come and enjoy a worry-free visit to the theatre. Please be reassured that, whatever Government safety measures are required or recommended this autumn, the Grand will go all out to meet - if not exceed - them. Hand sanitisers, face-masks, temperature checks and surface wipes will be available to everyone, free of charge. And, should social distancing still be required when we get to the autumn, this will be clearly sign-posted and managed by our dedicated team. As always, if you have any additional or special requirements, you can contact the Box Office in advance of your visit and we will do our very best to accommodate you. We’ve also invested in improving the building security.

Susan Hill’s

The Woman In Black Susan Hill’s acclaimed ghost story, The Woman in Black, comes dramatically alive in Stephen Mallatratt’s ingenious stage adaptation. This gripping production, directed by Robin Herford, is a brilliantly successful study in atmosphere, illusion and controlled horror. A lawyer obsessed with a curse that he believes has been cast over him and his family by the spectre of a Woman in Black, engages a sceptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul. It all begins innocently enough, but then, as they reach further into his darkest memories, they find themselves caught up in a world of eerie marshes and moaning winds. “One of British Theatre’s Biggest - and Scariest Hits!” The Guardian
