Tales for Tots Welcome to a world of makebelieve where parents and toddlers will listen and play along as if they are in the story. Children may dress up for class as a character of their choice. Class meets once a week for 4 weeks. Instructor: Deborah Littleton Location: Musco Music Room 10

Little Actors’ Theatre (Fairytale Theatre)

Beginning Acting for Youth, Teens, and Adults

Get ready to use your imagination and transform into the world of fairytale! In this class children will listen to classic fairytale rhymes and stories and learn how to act them out in a group setting. This is a great way to introduce your child to theatre and to collaborating artistically with others. Acting builds self-confidence, self-esteem, creativity, and expression for all ages. Class meets once a week for 4 weeks.

In this fun-filled class, students will learn the basics of acting through the use of warm-ups, theatre games, improvisation, and monologue training. The focus will be on memorization, movement, and stage techniques. This class provides a foundation in acting, while building self-esteem. Acting is ideal for improving speaking skills and building self-confidence in public settings. Class meets once a week for 5 weeks.

Instructor: Deborah Littleton Location: Musco Music Room Note: Students may come dressed in costumes or bring their favorite stories.

Instructor: Deborah Littleton Location: Musco Music Room Note: Students should bring a view type binder and a sharpened pencil. Students are also encouraged to search for monologues online, in the library, or in a book store.

drama Beginning through Advanced Private Auditioning Technique

Lights, Camera, Action: Live at the Improv!

Students will be taught one-on-one to analyze and perform a successful monologue and commercial audition. If the student chooses to return for further sessions, the instructor will coach the student on breaking into and staying in the business, and will lead the student through various exercises to develop listening and responding rather than simply quoting lines without emotion. As they progress through these exercises, students develop a scene with the instructor that incorporates the Meisner method. Class meets once a week for 4 weeks.

‘And ACTION!’ will be the operative words in this fast-paced acting exercise/technique, very similar to the style of comedy sketch shows. Improv is great for getting new and shy actors onstage faster. With kids, it’s like they’re just playing ‘pretend,’ and for adults, it’s that ‘think-quick’ that they do every day when resolving problems on the job. Students will begin each day by stretching their minds and their bodies to bend around scenarios and theatre games. Students are also encouraged to think of their own scenarios. Improv is a great team building exercise and ‘time-out’ for corporate groups; adults can invite co-workers! Kids of all ages enjoy improv. Come see what all the fun’s all about!

Instructor: Deborah Littleton Location: Musco Music Room Note: Supply fee is included in class fee.

Instructor: Deborah Littleton Location: Musco Music Room Note: Students should come dressed to move. Families are invited the last day of class for an improv recital.

Music Together Big Kids

Music Together Music Together recognizes that all children are musical, and that every child needs a stimulating, supportive music environment to achieve basic competence in the wonderful human capacity of music making. Adults and children come together for 45 minutes each week to sing songs, experience rhythm chants, dance and move to music, play instruments, make up silly rhymes for songs and experience a wide range of rhythmic and melodic musical variety. All of this live music making takes place in a fun, playful, non-performance oriented and age-appropriate setting, with adults and teacher acting as encouraging role models.
