Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter, HYSTYLE, keeping you updated on developments within Grand Towers Group of companies and providing insight into trends in our key markets. The Newsletter aims to provide an opportunity for sharing our stories and views straight from the desks of Executives within the Grand Towers Group. This edition will highlight the progress on Callphone Ltd, A subsidiary of the group with initial targets in the Payment Terminal Service distribution market.

The Grand Towers Hotel, Ado-Ekiti, a 42 room Hotel was contracted to Moka Construction Ltd. Under the terms of the agreements, Moka construction will complete the Hotel by December 2014. The Hotel will be managed by Willemsen Hospitality who will be consulting with the Architects of the progect, Genoou concepts. Grand Towers expects that the team will provide an end result that will solidify the current positioning of 5 star service and facilities. INTRODUCING CALLPHONE NIGERIA— Continued from cover page In a bid to reform and transform Nigeria's retail payment system, to shift from cash transaction through to electronic channels, the Central Bank of Nigeria commenced with a National rollout of Point of Sale (POS) systems and Payment Terminal Servers. This vision commenced by licensing 6 Payment Terminal Service Providers (PTSP). Consequently, Grand Towers was accredited to be a provider of these POS services.

As a PTSP license holder, Grand Towers integrated strategy was to provide dedicated front end technical service solutions to the Market. After thorough research, having established and identified the opportunities and challenges in the market, Callphone Ltd was incorporated. The company will kick start their objectives by presenting their multiple e-payment/mobile payment solutions to the Nigeria market. These services will be rendered using the best and robust IT solutions and equipments that are efficient, cost effective and user friendly. In collaboration with NIBSS and select commercial banks, Callphone expects to provide support and maintenance services to merchants using POS terminals devices to receive payments from customers/consumers for services rendered.

All parties are confident about the intended roll out. The systems are market ready and despite challenges that may occur due to reported poor data signals is some area, customers/consumers can be assured of dedicated technical, administrative & training support & maintenance service.

TGIF Presentation Highlights: By Mr. Samuel Oboh—CFO on 4th As part of strengthening our Corporate Culture, Grand Towers introduced TGIF workshops at the Head office in Maitama, Abuja.

The informal setting was an opportunity for staff to meet, discuss, share & ultimately build on knowledge within and outside their arrears of expertise. In his presentation to the team, the newly appointed Chief Finance Officer, Mr Sam Oboh took on the concept of “Team Work, Team Spirit and Team Building”. He stated that his choice of topic was necessitated by his understanding that as a unit, Workers needed to be aware of and appreciate the essence of the working together; and also that Management had to realize this importance and the significant role in building up a team in the workplace. Below are excerpts from the CFOs presentation.

Team Spirit is the attitude found amongst employees in the workplace, whereby the employees are eager to come together to operate because it is a place where they can thrive professionally and enjoy the company of co-workers. The Team Leader or Manager always works to form employees into a team. The manager’s action can create team spirit within the work place and make his/her department more effective and productive. Whilst a stick of broom on its own cannot sweep clean and can easily be broken, a bunch sweeps clean and cannot easily be broken; there is synergy-effect in a team. To build a team, points such as, sharing a mission in common, agreeing upon the values of the team or work unit, providing your team members with the resources they need to accomplish their goals and managing conflict effectively, works towards ensuring a productive job environment. In addition, cultivating team spirit in the workplace provides an opportunity to make lifelong learning opportunities available to team member’s where all are equally accountable for fulfilling their tasks
