The School of Science On Wednesday 22nd April, 40 boys from Year 9 travelled over to Goodison Park, home of Everton FC. We were greeted by several members of Everton in the Community team, one of whom attended our previous end of year Graduation. We listened to several different staff members who informed us about their roles at Everton. After listening, all the students were surprised at the amount of different job roles that could be taken at the club. Then we embarked on our stadium tour aided by Lilly, who seemed to know everything about the club and it was easy to see that she was a true Evertonian. We were fortunate enough to see a variety of facilities at the ground such as: dressing room, executive seating area, pitch side and executive seats. Sitting inside the Home dressing room was a real highlight!
Afterwards, we ate our lunch and boarded the bus to go to Huyton, where we were to have our training session. The training session was led by five different Everton coaching staff. There was three main stations, these were: goalkeeping, possession/passing and a small sided match. All the students had a great day and really seemed to benefit from the achievement and behaviour for learning incentive. Tom Basson and Jack Shingler- Jolley, Year 9.
Hair and Beauty At the start of March Year 10 and 11 students attended taster sessions at Riverside College for both Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. The students thoroughly enjoyed these sessions where they had a go at some Nail Art, Smokey Eye makeup and a Curly Blow dry.
