RETURN TO BRISTOL COLOUR, WATER, SILK
RETURN TO BRISTOL With a successful 25 year career in Denmark, Katherine Scrivens now introduces her art to her hometown with her 'Return to Bristol' exhibition. Her work focuses on the life of women. Inspiration for her work comes from everywhere, everyone and everything. Her trademark silhouettes and portraits have a place on the contemporary art scene in Denmark. Her portrait of the Crown Princess Mary of Denmark is now in the Princess' private collection and she can also count Peter Schmeichel as one of her fans. Katherine Scrivens' 'Return to Bristol' showcases a variety of her oil and acrylic paintings as well as her ceramics. www.katherinescrivens.com
COLOUR, WATER, SILK For many years Maddie and Louise both pursued their love of fine art alongside busy working lives. Both artists have a love of the natural world from wide landscapes to the intricate beauty of flowers, insects and animals. They challenge themselves not only to capture the spirit of their subject , as they transform a blank sheet into a finished piece , but also to communicate the wonder of nature to the viewer. Maddie and Louise will always find inspiration around them too , from a walk around the docks to a steam train ride in Somerset .
