To: All Members of the Grapevine Chamber The Grapevine Chamber in 2017 operated by a Board of Directors made up of twentytwo Chamber members. Nine members serve with three-year terms in three member cycles. There is also four one-year appointments and six ex-officio members. The Chairmanship rotation is a three-year term, so that the individuals appointed to serve as Chair-Elect, Chair and Immediate Past Chair will be able to fulfill their obligation. The CEO also serves on the Board as the Secretary. Those nominated will be presented at the October meeting of the Grapevine Chamber Board of Directors. These Board members and officers will begin to serve the membership on January 1, 2018, if no other nominations are received.

Along with the Director nominations, the Board was presented with the proposed slate of officers to serve the Chamber.

Additional names of a candidate for a Director’s position to fill one of the three year terms can be nominated by petition bearing the signature of at least twenty-five active members of the Chamber. Such petition shall be filed with the Nominating Committee within ten days after this notice has been given of the name nominated. The determination of the nominating committee as the legality of the petition(s) shall be final. Helping Our Fellow Chambers On August 25th, 2017, Hurricane Harvey struck the Texas coast, wreaking havoc on nearly 60 Texas counties. This disaster impacted cities, business communities and chambers of commerce all along the Gulf Coast. The recovery will be long. The life line of these local economies are the businesses that serve them and their chambers of commerce. In response to this disaster, Texas chambers are launching an “Adopt a Chamber/ Community Initiative. This initiative is being led by the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives, the state association of chamber professionals, which our own Chamber CEO RaDonna Hessel is the current Chair. This initiative will identify the needs of various chambers and their communities, collect funds and engage our membership to assist in the many needs of the communities in the impacted areas.
