Working Toward 2016! It has been a great year so far serving as your Chairman, and I am surprised I only have a couple of short months left. It seems like just yesterday we were at the Community Awards Banquet in January, and C.W. Higgins was passing me the gavel.

Even though the year is coming to a close, your Board of Directors continues working hard to complete the goals we set forth this year, as well as look toward 2016. The new members of the board have been approved, and we have scheduled our 2016 Strategic Planning Meeting for November 19. As the board begins to look

Chamber function each month. There is more to being a member of the Grapevine Chamber than just having your company name in the printed directory and listed on the website. I am not sure who told me this first, but you get out of the Chamber what you put into the Chamber. Whether it is a luncheon, ribbon cutting, mixer or an economic development meeting, we would love to see you. Come on out; shake some hands; and make some friends! November is a great time to give thanks (even if the Cowboys are losing!). I want to thank all of the members of the Grapevine Chamber for allowing me to serve as the 2015 Chairman of the Board. If I or any of your Board of Directors can be of assistance to you, please let us know, and I hope to see you at the next Chamber event!

Holiday Hoedown,

November 12

The holiday season is here, and in November, we take time to show gratitude for the blessings that all of us have - living in a great country, being able to spend time with family and friends, and developing our talents to succeed in work and service in the community. The members of the Women’s Division are ready for our annual Holiday Hoedown, Thursday, November 12, at Austin Ranch at Hilton DFW Lakes. Event ticket and Grand Raffle tickets are available from Women’s Division members and online at www.GrapevineChamberFoundation.org. Please come join, as we have a fun night raising funds for school supplies on behalf of the children of the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. It is sure to be another great evening put together by members of the Women’s Division, as we celebrate 50 years of serving in the community. Thank you to Emily McRoberts of Homestead Winery for being our October Chili Cook Off sponsor and host. Karen Deakin once again won the Women’s Division Chili Cook Off; so now we are preparing our winning chili for the 23rd Annual Classic Chili Cook Off, November 10, at Classic Chevrolet (Near Classic Pre-Owned). This will be the year for the Women’s Division to take home an award! So stop by and have some of our chili. You won’t be disappointed! Thoughtful service was provided by our members in October who spent a morning interviewing senior clients of GRACE to see what their Christmas wishes are. This is always a special service our members enjoy providing for seniors in our community. Be looking to adopt a senior in November. Tags will be on a Christmas tree in the Chamber office lobby and The REC. Great work women of the Women’s Division of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce - working hard and serving the Grapevine community. See you all at our next luncheon, Tuesday, November 17, at 11:45 a.m. at Messina Hof Grapevine Winery. If you have questions about the Women’s Division of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, please contact me at coplen2@ gmail.com or (817) 300-8351.
