Isn’t September a strange month? It is the first full month of a new school year for children of all ages, kindergarten to college. It is the month we transition from summer to fall (at least we hope so weather wise). It is the month when leaves begin to change, businesses begin planning their budgets for the next year and we all start shopping for Christmas. It is the beginning of the end of another year. But since 2001, it is also a time when we step back in time to think of the tragic loss of life, the horror of radical thinking, the anger of having innocent lives taken due to terroristic insanity. But at the same time 09-11-2001 and after showed us true heroism, patriotism, faith and resilience. It brought our country together in a way not often seen in my lifetime and reminded
us of how strong we are when we act together, support each other and work towards a common goal. We haven’t forgotten that day and what happened, but we have learned from it, we have grown, and we have become smarter and stronger. We are blessed to be in the United States of America, and I encourage you to take some time this month to thank a first responder when you see them for all they do to keep us safe. For Grapevine and the Grapevine Chamber, September means the start of a multitude of ways for you and your company to get involved in the community, meet people, build friendships and have fun. Grapefest is September 12 – 15. There are a ton of ways to get involved by volunteering for the chamber beer booth or concession stand from Friday – Sunday, helping the Women’s Division

man all beer booths from Thursday to Friday, or signing up to the help the city, CVB or any of the other organizations who will be on Main Street. The Chamber is also making plans for the October 7th Golf Tournament – the 40th annual event! They are still signing up teams, sponsors and volunteers. And October 30th is the next Job Fair. Committees are meeting, luncheons are happening, and networking is also a part of building your business and your community. Remember - we are all stronger when we work together!
