Questions about the GCISD Bond Package? Learn More April 21! The Grapevine Chamber is proud to have GCISD Superintendent, Dr. Robin Ryan, speak at the next Grapevine Chamber Luncheon about the 2016 GCISD Bond Package. The luncheon, sponsored by Northstar Bank and catered by Buca di Beppo, will be Thursday, April 21, at 11:30 a.m., at the Grapevine Convention Center. The Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to call a $248,975,000 bond election for May 7, 2016. The bond

package was assembled by FIRST – the Facility Innovation & Readiness Stakeholder Team. The proposed bond projects will impact every campus in GCISD and address growth and facility improvements for GCISD students in four main areas: • Securing Students and Staff • Growth and Evolution • Infrastructure • Classroom Experience Dr. Robin Ryan joined GCISD as Superintendent on June 15, 2010. He has served 30 years in education, all in Texas, including as principal of Colleyville Heritage

High School from 2004-2006. He previously served in Dallas ISD as Chief Academic Officer and Area Superintendent; in Carroll ISD as a high school principal, junior high principal, middle school principal and assistant principal; in Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD as a life science teacher and Student Services Coordinator; in San Angelo ISD as the administrator of one of the first discipline alternative schools in Texas; and as a high school biology teacher in Graham ISD. Here Comes Spring and More Opportunities… Welcome to spring! Where did the first quarter of 2016 go? Time does fly, as busy as many in our community are these days. Last month we talked about our great staff at the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce and the many roles they play in support of the programs and services provided

to nearly 900 Chamber members. Another group that we rely on are the volunteers that make programs and events happen throughout our community. Throughout the year, there are multiple opportunities to volunteer for large events such as Main Street Fest, May 20-22, and GrapeFest, September 15-18, or become more involved with groups such as our Women’s Division, Ambassadors or Senior

Services Alliance. We have weekly and monthly events always looking for new volunteers to join our team. Special events such as our Annual Grapevine Casino Night, August 27, or Annual Golf Tournament, October 3, are always a lot of fun for all, but they take a great number of volunteers to create the first class experiences we all are so proud of each year!
