Leadership Grapevine
to Commence its Graduation May 7 The 2014 - 2015 Leadership Grapevine class will have the graduation for their year-long program at the Chamber’s luncheon, Thursday, May 7, at 11:30 a.m., sponsored by Waterway Adventures and catered by City Kitchen. During the luncheon, the class will present a Year in Review slideshow of their accomplishments. The new graduates are now able to move on to the next level of leadership and involvement in the Leadership Grapevine Program. Leadership Grapevine is a joint program by the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce and the City of Grapevine. In this innovative leadership development program, citizens and business leaders learn about municipal government, economic development and cultural opportunities within Grapevine.

Who’s ready for the 31st Annual Main Street Fest in Grapevine? Main Street Fest will bring appr ox i m a t e l y 150,000 visitors to town, May 15-17. That is a lot of potential customers, which means it is sure to be a great weekend for area merchants. I can already hear those cash registers ringing! I know the festivals might cause some merchants and residents a few headaches, but the positives far outweigh any negatives. An event like Main Street Fest brings opportunities for local businesses to showcase their products and for civic and service organizations to raise much needed funds. Last year, this festival saw more than 20 civic and service organizations receive over $150,000 from the festival for their work over a three-day weekend. It takes months of planning and work for the festival to happen. The Grapevine Convention Continued on page 2
