The Grapevine and HurstEuless-Bedford Chamber of Commerce will come together for the July Membership Luncheon, Thursday, July 10, 11:30 a.m. at the Hurst Conference Center, sponsored by Stoneybrook Memory Care. The program topic is “The Mind of the Entrepreneur.” This luncheon continues a long tradition of partnership with the

Hurst-Euless-Bedford Chamber of Commerce, offering a unique opportunity to make new connections and see familiar faces from a neighboring Chamber of Commerce. Please be sure and make your reservations in advance for this special luncheon. Our luncheon sponsor, Stoneybrook Memory Care, is family-owned and operated with the purpose of meeting the unique needs of those living with memory loss, with an environment purposely designed to enhance the lives of those

living with memory impairment. Make plans to join us for the luncheon at the Hurst Conference Center, located at 1601 Campus Dr. in Hurst. The cost is $25 with reservations made prior to 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, and $30 after. There is a $5 fee for invoicing. Reservations not cancelled in advance will be billed. Recently, I had the opportunity to attend the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives Conference in Bryan- College Station. Besides the educational, motivational and relevant topic programming, the annual statewide media awards are presented. Due to the work and efforts of your Board and our wonderful members, your Grapevine

Chamber of Commerce has grown and now falls into the same category as the largest chambers in Texas including Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Irving and the Houston Partnership, among many others. What that means is that our programs, products and services are being judged against Chambers that have budgets of $1 million and up. That is a great challenge to continue to improve what we do, with the ultimate goal provided by our Board to become the BEST Chamber!

I was proud this year to receive on behalf of our Chamber, the 1st Place Media Award for Social Media for large Chambers. Your Board, through their strategic planning in 2011 under Chairman Angela Mitcham, created a focus on technology, recognizing that, while we will always value face to face networking, programs and projects, the future of business would expand greatly through technology and the turn toward Social Media.
