2024 Board Nominations
To: All Members of the Grapevine Chamber,
The Grapevine Chamber is operated by a Board of Directors made up of twenty-three Chamber members. Nine members serve with three-year terms in three member cycles. There are also four one-year appointments and seven ex-officio members. The Chairmanship rotation is a three-year term, so that the individuals appointed to serve as Chair-Elect, Chair and Immediate Past Chair will be able to fulfill their obligation The CEO also serves on the Board as the Secretary
Those nominated will be presented at the October meeting of the Grapevine Chamber Board of Directors. These Board members and officers will begin to serve the membership on January 1, 2024, if no other nominations are received for the following three positions of Board Member Nominations for 2024-2026:

Additional names of a candidate for a Director’s position to fill one of the three-year terms can be nominated by petition bearing the signature of at
least twenty-five active members of the Chamber
Such petition shall be filed with the Nominating Committee within ten days after this notice has been given of the name nominated. The determination of the nominating committee as the legality of the petition(s) shall be final. If no petition is filed within the designated period of ten days, the nominations shall be closed, and the candidate shall be declared elected by the Board of Directors at their next regular board meeting
In the selection process, the nominating committee reviewed the various events, activities and committees of the Chamber to find members who were involved in the organization's goals and activities, either through time, money or talents. They also took into consideration those members who expressed interest in serving on the board and were committed to the time involved in this service to our Chamber and business community
Several names were presented to the nominating committee of members who were interested in serving on the Board as well as officer positions. If you would like to be considered for a future board position, you are encouraged to:
1) Get involved in the Grapevine Chamber’s committees, events or activities, and / or;
2) Let someone know of your interest - either a Board Member, Executive Board Member or Chamber CEO

Prior to Sustainable Signs & Graphics, as a serial entrepreneur, Steve was involved in ownership of several small companies. Steve previously lived in Los Angeles before coming to Texas full time and making it his new home. “After spending a week a month in the Dallas metroplex over the span of a decade, this area became my second home. Constituting the Constitution
The state constitutional amendment election on Nov 7 will include 14 amendments, whose Joint Resolutions total $38 billion That $38 billion in potential expenditures falls outside the bounds of the 2024-2025 biennial budget passed by the legislature, which held spending in line with population growth, inflation, and other economic factors By deferring to voters, legislators can claim constituents demanded the boost in spending to a level higher than would otherwise be constitutionally possible The $38 billion is almost 14% greater than the entire surplus of onetime revenues
Prop. 1 – HJR 26 “The constitutional amendment protecting the right to engage in farming, ranching, timber production, horticulture, and wildlife management ”
Prop 2 – SJR 64 “The constitutional amendment authorizing a local option exemption from ad valorem taxation by a county or municipality of all or part of the appraised value of real property used to operate a child-care facility ”
Prop. 3 – HJR 132 “The constitutional amendment prohibiting the imposition of an individual wealth or net worth tax, including a tax on the difference between the assets and liabilities of an individual or family ”
Prop 4 – HJR 2, special session “The constitutional amendment to authorize the legislature to establish a temporary limit on the maximum appraised value of real property other than a residence homestead for ad valorem tax purposes; to increase the amount of the exemption from ad valorem taxation by a school district applicable to residence homesteads from $40,000 to $100,000; to adjust the amount of the limitation on school district ad valorem taxes imposed on the residence homesteads of the elderly or disabled to reflect increases in certain exemption amounts; to except certain appropriations to pay for ad valorem tax relief from the constitutional limitation on the rate of growth of appropriations; and to authorize the legislature to provide for a four-year term of office for a member of the board of directors of certain appraisal districts.”

Prop. 7 – SJR 93 “The constitutional amendment providing for the creation of the Texas energy fund to support the construction, maintenance, modernization, and operation of electric generating facilities ”
Prop 8 – HJR 125 “The constitutional amendment creating the broadband infrastructure fund to expand high-speed broadband access and assist in the financing of connectivity projects.”
Prop. 9 – HJR 2, regular session “The constitutional amendment authorizing the 88thLegislature to provide a cost-of-living adjustment to certain annuitants of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas ”
Prop 10 – SJR 87 “The constitutional amendment to authorize the legislature to exempt from ad valorem taxation equipment or inventory held by a manufacturer of medical or biomedical products to protect the Texas healthcare network and strengthen our medical supply chain.”
Prop. 11 – SJR 32 “The constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to permit conservation and reclamation districts in El Paso County to issue bons supported by ad valorem taxes to fund the development and maintenance of parks and recreational facilities ”
Prop 12 – HJR 134 “The constitutional amendment providing for the abolition of the office of county treasurer in Galveston County.”
Prop. 13 – HJR 107 “The constitutional amendment to increase the mandatory age of retirement for state justices and judges ”
Prop 14 – SJR 74 “The constitutional amendment providing for the creation of the centennial parks conservation fund to be used for the creation and improvement of state parks ”
