11 Area Chambers host Legislative Luncheon with US Senator John Cornyn

11 North Texas Chambers hosted a Legislative Luncheon at the Gaylord Texan, where United States Senator John Cornyn touched upon key legislative initiatives and policies including labor shortages, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), and the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, just to name a few The Senator's insights and perspectives were well-received by the audience, and his commitment addressing critical issues was evident throughout his remarks.

In addition to the substantive discussions, the luncheon provided an excellent networking opportunity, allowing attendees to connect with one another and explore potential collaborations The event served as a catalyst for building and strengthening relationships within our industry and beyond

Senator Cornyn’s presence and engagement left a lasting impression and recognition of the need for businesses to be involved, aware of the issues and communicate to those our elected officials who serve. We are grateful for his commitment to work with our community and advocate for our shared interests We look forward to building upon the momentum generated by this luncheon and continuing our efforts to advocate for positive changes in our community Thank you to the following Chambers for collaborating with us on this event:

Record Number of GCISD Students Served at Back to School Fair

The Women's Division had the honor to partner with GCISD and CONNECT on Saturday, August 5th to provide 1,653 supply packs to GCISD students Thanks goes to Haydee Young, our Vice Chair of Community Spirit, and more than thirty volunteers who arrived before dawn and braved the heat to make this event possible

Over the last three years we have seen our costs for purchasing school supplies nearly double. We would like to extend special thanks to our community partners who provided generous donations to help us continue to serve these students: Gateway Church, CONNECT in GCISD, Grapevine First Baptist Church, and Harriet Smith The generosity of our community is both inspiring and humbling

Keep an eye out for details of our next fundraiser, Elves on the Court, on December 9th at Chicken N Pickle. Hope to see you there!
