EQUINE OBITUARY- HOT SILK Lisa Teel has announced the passing of her World Champion Hot Silk. The beautiful black mare is a six-time World Champion Model Mare. Hot Silk took her first title in 2008. Then five more would follow: 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Four different handlers claimed these titles with this mare. CORINTH, MS- Harper Road in Corinth, Mississippi was the place to be on Saturday, March 31, 2018. The annual Magnolia Classic Racking Horse Show was where it was happening. Racking Horse enthusiasts filled Crossroads Arena hoping to get a glimpse of their favorite horse, as some of the greatest Racking Horses were on hand trying to capture the top prize for each division. Mack Deckle, Kelly France and Jason Todd judged the 26-class event with 88 entries. The evening ended with the 2018 Magnolia Classic Racking Horse Champion being crowned. Taking top honors was The Ultimate Attraction with Steve Beam in the irons. Steve and Michelle Glidewell own the champion. CLEMSON, SC- The South Carolina Walking Horse Ladies Auxiliary hosted their annual horse show on April 13-14, 2018. The 28th Annual Spring S.C. Walking Horse Ladies Auxiliary Cancer Benefit Horse Show took place at the T. Ed Garrison Arena in Clemson. Show Manager Keels Kirby was pleased with the fundraiser as the 68 classes had 111 entries come through the gate. The two-night show was judged by Mike Carter. Some great Tennessee Walking Horses were showcased. The grand finale of the evening was the Walking Horse Championship. The final class had one entry. Ice Cold Gold claimed the title with Allen Abee in the irons for owner Tom Shipman. The Scoop congratulates all participants for such a successful show.
