Chhatra Sagar This is a truly magical place and a rare find, 2 hours east of Jodphur, Chhatra Sagar comprises tents pitched on a dam overlooking a lake, run by the Nimaj family. It is very much a family concern with one son running the place, another organizing the jeep safaris, the ladies doing the cooking. (The food is fantastic). They all live in a house at one end of the dam with a small garden. The family own all the land all around it so there is no one as far as the eye can see. The birdlife is wonderful here, the lake being a major attraction for several species. Take a walk around the lake or the family can take you out on a jeep safari through his farm and into the village which is totally unspoilt with really friendly people.
