BACKGROUND
Fruit and wellness shots have became popular in the recent years among people engaged in healthy nutrition. They are concentrated blends of fruits, juices, roots and herbs with
• high nutrient content,
• no alcohol, preservatives, artificial flavors and colors
• natural ingredients rich in fibre, water-soluble vitamins and minerals. However, in order to reach a higher nutrient level, wellness shots often get extra vitamin and mineral infusion.
COLD-PRESSED OILS
Grapoila has been producing cold-pressed oils for over a decade. We have perfected the method of mechanical pressing in order to produce the best quality, healthy and tasty oils. Besides being delicious and gourmet, pure cold-pressed oils have great nutritional benefits: they are vegan sources of
• polyunsaturated and essential fatty acids (Omega-3, -6)
• fat soluble vitamins (especially Vitamin E)
• and special antioxidant fitoingredients, that have significant contribution to maintain health. Cold-pressed oils provide us with such valuable nutrients, that are hard to intake from regular food in sufficient quantities, even by a balanced diet.
THE INNOVATION
However, we have come to the idea to combine fruits, juices and vegetables with cold-pressed oils, where the ingredients complement and enhance each other, while they blend in harmony. The new Grapoila products, the FROTs (Fruit & Oil Together)
are 100% natural supplements, that support our bodies’ functions with concentrated nutrients, and effectively minimize the risk of modern life stressors in form of easily and quickly consumable daily nutri shots.
THE CHALLENGE
Mixing the different ingredients seems simple, except for one thing: „watery” (fruits, juices) and „fatty” (oils) parts do not blend naturally. To avoid their separation we need an aid, that
• emulsifies them,
• while keeps the FROTS 100% natural, tasty, nutritios and eco-friendly.
As an emulsifier we have used the golden linseed flour, which is our own upcycled product, the reused byproduct of the oil pressing. It is worth to save it from wasting, as it is gluten free, rich in vitamins, minerals and vegan protein. It performs perfectly as an emulsifier, and even enhances the total nutritional value of the FROTs.
THE MISSION
FROTs – just like all Grapoila products – are as sustainable as possible. First of all, they are plant based, and made from locally available raw material (we don’t use exotic superfood from a far part of the Earth, in order to keep the supply chain short). The production is part of a zero-waste system, and the packaging is also eco-friendly. Beyond all these, using an upcycled byproduct as an active ingredient, makes the FROTs even more sustainable.
FROT#1 - Apricot & Sea buckthorn seed oil
This FROT is a true vitamin blast with sea buckthorn as active ingredient, which’s both flesh and (the seeds’) cold-pressed oil is used. The orange color, traditional local superfood is a well known herb with proven immun supporting, antiinflammatory and antioxidant features. The oil is extremly rich in vitamin E, polyunsaturated and essential fatty acids, that extends the nutritional value of the apricot, grape and apple, and they blend in a pleasantly fruity flavor.
Ingredients: apricot puree, white grape juice, apple juice, sea buckthorn flesh, golden linseed flour, cold-pressed sea buckthorn oil, apricot kernel oil
FROT#2 - Rosehip & Pumpkin / Hemp seed oil
This FROTs fruit base (rosehip, cranberries and red grapes) is a vitamin and mineral bomb on itself. Its combination with cold-pressed pumpkin seed and hemp seed oil, makes this red berry mix even more beneficial. The two pure oils boost the mix with vitamin E, polyunsaturated and essential fatty acids and other fitoingredients, that gives this FROT great antioxidant properties.
Ingredients: rosehip flesh, red grape juice, cranberry juice, apple juice, golden linseed flour, cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil, hemp seed oil
FROT#3 - Beetroot & Black cumin seed oil
FROT#3 is a unique combination of some of the most nutritive and effective, traditional herbs on earth. The wholesome beetroot and the carrot sweetened with apple puree makes a great fundation, that is supplemented with one of the most sought-after cold-pressed oil. The Black cumin seed oil is a powerful, antient herb with proven immun supporting, antiinflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial and antitumor effects, but it has a subtle yet distinctive taste. The black cumin seed oil blended in the favorable, sweet fruits, has this way become milder and easier to consume.

For all that, FROTs (or any wellness shots) can’t replace or compare to an overall healthy nutrition, but they can supplement it, and make a difference by filling the gaps in a diet. They are great, easily and quickly consumable, natural nutri blasts, that can suit in the daily routine of either adults or children. The single dose bottles (50 ml) can fit invisible in a packet, bag or lunch box, but as an eco-friendlier option we also offer them in a large, 500 ml bottle.
