A Message From the 2018 Chairman of the Board Keith Newton, D.F. Richard Energy I am excited and honored to begin 2018 as the Chairman of the Board for the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce. Our chamber offers exciting initiatives with the expectation to be a resource and assist the business community within the greater Rochester area. On behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff at the Chamber, I want to thank Matt Beaulieu of Service Credit Union for his leadership and dedication as Chairman of the Board over the past year. I also want thank Service Credit Union for allowing Matt to provide commitment, structure and professionalism to our chamber. For 32 years, I have had the pleasure of working in the propane industry, the past 16 with D.F. Richard Energy. I would like to thank D.F. Richard Energy for the continued support of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce and allowing me to Chair this Chamber into a dynamic 2018. We have learned the importance of strong leadership, commitment and membership. We are here to serve the members and aid them in business growth. We plan to bring forward new initiatives and programs that will allow them to build upon their businesses. This year we will be focusing more on our current membership, retention and growth, offering technology, networking and referral programs. These are the basic concepts of the Chamber. Sometimes we look past what these concepts are. Take care of the members we have, understand the businesses, find their needs and put a plan in place for them. A strong membership is the backbone of any Chamber!!! GET INVOLVED If you ask yourself how I can become involved, the answer is quite simple. Start by keeping our Business Referral Directory in arms reach. If you don’t have one let us know and we will provide one to you. Utilizing our members is a great way to provide you with the goods and services that you require. This will afford you the opportunity to develop local business relationships that strengthen the success of our community. Additionally, I personally invite you to attend our many networking events which will provide you the opportunity to make connections with existing members in a casual and social environment. I look forward to working with our members, staff, and community leaders to identify areas where our Chamber can assist our membership to adapt to an ever-changing business climate. Our Board must remain vigilant to the needs of our members and provide services that supports the membership. Your input, feedback, and involvement will be paramount to our continued success. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have about your Chamber. The continued success of this wonderful organization relies on your participation and involvement. I am excited to begin working with the members, our Board of Directors, and the Chamber Staff to further grow and strengthen our membership in 2018. Wishing you all the best this New Year!
