A Message From the 2019 Chairman of the Board Anne Brown, Daystar, Inc. Happy New Year! I am happy and honored to begin my term as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce. It is a promising and exciting time to do business in the greater Rochester area. I, along with the Chamber staff and fellow Directors, are dedicated to serving our members’ growth and success. The Chamber extends its deepest gratitude to our past Board Chairman Keith Newton for his dedicated and faithful leadership. Keith’s passion for the business community and his unwavering focus on our members have made us a stronger Chamber of Commerce. I also would like to thank D.F. Richard Energy for providing Keith with the time and resources to serve our members. I have worked in the communications field for twenty-two years, the last fifteen with Daystar. When we joined the Chamber in 2003, Daystar had seven staff members; today, we employ twenty professionals. Throughout this time, I have witnessed the impact a Chamber membership can have on a business’ growth and development. Whether it be branding, promoting, networking, connecting, educating, or advocating, the Chamber works tirelessly to advance the welfare and prosperity of the members it serves. Our challenge is to remain relevant to our members’ needs to ensure we deliver the services and programs that are pertinent to your success. Just as your business evolves over time and you listen to your customer or market demands to respond to those changes, please know that we are listening to you. Your ideas, challenges, opportunities, and feedback are immensely important to us. Our Board and staff are dedicated to serving your needs. Your input, communication, and participation is vital to making sure we deliver. Our Chamber is stable and strong. We have a solid foundation that allows us to focus on the future. The Chamber team is constantly evaluating our programs and creating new initiatives to support our current and future members. Our membership is diverse and our services must cater to that. I encourage you to take a closer look at your Chamber benefits to find what works for you, whether that be networking events, promotional services, governmental affairs education, referrals, etc. Please reach out to me with any questions or feedback you have about the Chamber. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to hear from you. And please make sure to connect with me at one of the various Chamber events this year. I value your membership in the Chamber and I am excited to work with you, the Chamber staff, and my fellow Board members to further grow and enhance our Chamber network.

The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce is really all about one thing. Opportunity. It provides an opportunity for businesses, organizations and nonprofits to show what they have to offer to the Rochester area while giving local residents a single place where they can go to learn about what products and services are out there for them. For The Rochester Voice, the Chamber provides an opportunity to connect with local businesses and city stakeholders, furthering our reach to develop new relationships that enhance our ability to both deliver for our readers and our advertisers. Area residents know they can come to the Chamber anytime and get informational maps, directories and brochures about the city and local businesses.
