AMBASSADOR CORNER GET STARTED ON BENEFITTING FROM YOUR CHAMBER Provided by Rod Jablonski, Better Homes & Gardens
I am often told by some members, or more to the point, lapsed members, that they never got anything out of their Chamber Membership". My follow up question to that statement is always, "did you attend any business after hours, join a committee or help with any events?". Most often the answer is "no". My point is, that, joining is just the first step. In order to meet prospective clients, and more importantly, for them to meet you, you have to be visible. Just a listing in the directory won't do it. If gathering in a group for a Business After Hours makes you uncomfortable, start by joining a committee. This is a fun way to get involved in a small group setting. No pressure. Sponsor your own business after hours or collaborate with another business to hold a joint BAH. You really can get something out of it. Ask any of the Chamber Ambassadors, Board Members, or stop in the Chamber office on how to get started.
