Committee News LEADERSHIP GREATER ROCHESTER Leadership Greater Rochester held its Economic Development Day in April, hosted by Waste Management in Rochester. Presentations and discussions took place regarding decision making in relation to economic development, the role economic development plays in our community, and the conditions and barriers that effect development. Class participants heard from Rochester’s Economic Development Manager Karen Pollard, Planning & Development Director Jim Campbell and Rochester Main Street president Emily Pelletier. Discussion on how city departments and others work together to aid in economic development efforts was then provided by a panel of representatives from various city departments and financing programs available. The panel included John Hall, Profile Bank, Jenn Marsh-Economic Development/Technical Review Committee, Peter Nourse-Public Works, Seth Creighton -Planning, Jim Grant-Building, Codes & Licensing, and Tim Wilder-Fire Marshal. Participants were then provided of Waste Management facilities. Our thanks to Waste Management for hosting this session, the informative tour and refreshments. Our thanks to our presenters and panel representatives for the valuable information provided. Coming up on May 15, 2018 Leadership Greater Rochester will present its “Non-Profit Day” and Graduation for our 2017/2018 class, hosted by Granite Steak & Grill.

Member News Dover Adult Learning Center Art Classes: Exercise your creative side using paint, ink, paper and pastel in "Mixed Media Painting". Beginners through advanced students are welcome! Take home a painting and skills you can repeat at home. (All materials provided. Saturday, May 12, 11:00am-3:00pm. Tuition $115.) In "Painting with Paper", you’ll create a painting using scissors and an array of papers. Learn about composition, color and adding whimsy to your work. Whether stormy or soft and fluffy, clouds are always an interesting subject to paint. Next, they will be asked to rank these challenges from most pressing to least pressing. Finally, business leaders will be able to recommend action steps.
