The 2022 Greater Seacoast Housing Summit will be held on Thursday, November 3, from 8:00 to 10 a.m. at The Governor’s Inn in Rochester. The Housing Summit is produced in partnership by the Workforce Housing Coalition of the Greater Seacoast and the Seacoast Chamber Alliance.

New Hampshire is at an economic crossroads. Businesses are struggling to find workers because workers are struggling to find housing. It’s estimated that we need 20,000 to 30,000 new housing units statewide to continue our economic growth and house our workforce. Join regional stakeholders and chamber members for a discussion with business leaders and those working to address the housing crisis in their communities. Panelists for this solutions oriented event include keynote speaker Mike Skelton, President & CEO of the Business & Industry Association, Moderator Sarah Wrightsman, NH Housing, with presenters Mayor Paul Callaghan, City of Rochester, Asst. Mayor Joanne Kelley of the City of Portsmouth, and Marty Chapman, Executive Director of The Housing Partnership. The fee to attend is $15 for Chamber members and $25 for general public. The Children's Museum of New Hampshire is excited to host a Halloween event that focuses on fun not fright! Kids and adults are encouraged to come in costume to explore our exhibits and participate in a costume parade at 11am or 2 pm. To join the not so spooky fun, reserve spots in the museum’s morning or afternoon play session on Saturday, October 29th it’s included with museum admission, and as always, free for Children's Museum Members!

What’s Been Going On at the Chamber?

The board of directors and staff wish to thank First Seacoast Bank for sponsoring the Chamber's annual membership day, known as Operation Thank You.

The day began with a great breakfast at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital Community Education and Conference Center for the 58 volunteers who then visited and thanked members in the local area for their support of the organization, while providing them with the Chamber's new Member Business Directory. The day concluded with a festive Business After Hours at RPAC Rochester Performance & Arts Center, complete with networking, great food, and door prizes!

This information will be provided to those narrating the parade, which will be video recorded. Please attach a separate sheet of paper if additional space is needed. Floats are expected to enhance the parade theme or recognize the theme in a creative manner. The name of the organization or company responsible for the float should be visible to the crowd and the video crew. The Holiday Parade Committee reserves the right to not allow any float or entry that is deemed inappropriate. ** If you are bringing a horse as part of your entry, your category is AUTOMATICALLY EQUESTRIAN. *** All Mobile entries must indicate the number of vehicles you are entering into the parade, as well as a description. **** All equestrian entries must have pooper scoopers or they will not be allowed to participate. Horse trailers must be brought to Rochester Common prior to beginning of parade. JUDGING & AWARDS: All float judging will take place promptly at 1:30 p.m. To allow yourself enough time to be in the line up by this time, you should plan to arrive by 12:30 p.m. Floats not in the line up by 1:30 p.m. will forfeit their opportunity to be judged. In addition to the Best of Parade award, Second and Third Place awards will be provided.
