VINEYARD TOURS
Single Vineyard Tour - HALF DAY
A fully hosted wine tour to one of the leading vineyards in South East England.
The tour starts from your selected departure point - rail station, airport, office or accommodation venue. Our host and driver will transport you to one of the area’s finest vineyards for an immersive and informative tour of the vines and winery followed by an expertled tutored tasting of award-winning wines. Lunch overlooking the vines, either alfresco or within the vineyard’s restaurant, completes a memorable day.
Multi Vineyard Tour - FULL DAY
This tailor made tour is a favourite among our customers. It is designed around your starting location and includes a visit to two or three vineyards in the day.
We transport you to the first vineyard for a tour of the vines and winery followed by the tutored wine tasting. You’ll then enjoy lunch at the vineyard before making your way onto the second vineyard for another tasting. If your schedule allows, we can include a third vineyard for a visit and tasting.

Extended Multi Vineyards Tour - MULTIPLE DAYS
For guests staying in the area for a few days, our fully hosted multi-day tours are a perfect way to immerse yourself in the English wine industry as well as seeing some of the region’s cultural venues. We design itineraries that are bespoke to you that include the type of places you wish to visit along with suitable accommodation. Popular itineraries include two or three days spent exploring Sussex’s stately homes and gardens coupled with visits to three - five vineyards. We can recommend excellent combinations to ensure you get the most out of your trip to Sussex.
Fly & Vine Tour - HALF DAY
The English wine adventure that starts from touchdown! Turn your arrival day into one of the most enjoyable parts of your trip with our Fly & Vine Tour! We meet you at London Gatwick Airport and take you and your luggage by minibus to one of the award-winning vineyards located close to the airport. At the vineyard you’ll be treated to a tour of the vines, followed by a tutored wine tasting and lunch. After lunch, we’ll transport you to your accommodation arriving just about check-in time!
Steam & Vine Tour - FULL DAY
One of our most exclusive wine tours on board the famous Bluebell Steam Railway that has featured in various film and TV productions, including Downton Abbey. Take a scenic 90-minute ride on board the steam train, accompanied with English sparkling wine, followed by a tour and lunch at a local vineyard. Alternatively, you can tour a vineyard before boarding your private first-class carriage on the steam train for a delicious silver-service dining experience paired brilliantly with English wines.
Cheese & Vine Tour - FULL DAY
This tour includes a visit to an awardwinning Sussex vineyard, where you’ll explore their estate and delve into the art of crafting English sparkling wine. Follow this with a tutored tasting of exceptional award-winning Sussex sparkling wines.

Vineyard & Brewery Tour - FULL DAY
Find out why the UK brewing industry is growing from strength to strength! Your day will start with a vineyard tour and tasting followed by a visit to a local brewery. You’ll learn about the beermaking process from brewing to bottling. Each of our partner breweries has it’s own unique story, processes and practices. Your guide will then invite you to taste a wide range of brews, dissecting the unique characteristics of each. Lunch can either be taken at the vineyard or brewery.
Vineyard & Distillery Tour - FULL DAY
The world of gin has exploded in recent years and there are several independent artisan gin distilleries to visit in Sussex and beyond.
Your day will start with a vineyard tour and tasting followed by lunch. Following lunch you’ll visit a local distillery. You’ll learn about the distilling process and the individual ingredients that make up the unique recipes. You can sample the different gins and even have a go at making up your own gin cocktail!

Take to the water in the stunning South Downs National Park at beautiful Cuckmere Haven. You can choose to enjoy the tranquil ox bow lake on a stand-up paddle board, or in a canoe or kayak. A perfect team-building activity, guests can enjoy a range of on-water games which are fun and engaging against the backdrop of the stunning Sussex countryside.

Gardens & Vineyard Tour - FULL DAY
You’ll spend the morning enjoying a guided tour of one of the region’s beautiful formal gardens. The gardens we visit include Wakehurst, Borde Hill, Nymans, Sheffield Park and Leonardslee.
Following the garden tour, we’ll make our way to a traditional English pub for lunch. After lunch, you’ll head off on a vineyard and winery tour before enjoying a tutored wine tasting. Alternatively, we can arrange to have lunch at the vineyard before the tour.
Castle & Vineyard Tour - FULL DAY
Discover the majestic splendour of either Hever Castle or Arundel Castle! Spend the morning touring one of these famous castles and their stunning grounds.
For lunch, you can choose the option of a traditional pub lunch or at one of the vineyards. Either way, following lunch, you’ll then be treated to an in-depth estate and winery tour before sampling the vineyard’s wines.

Art & Vineyard Tour - FULL DAY
You’ll spend the morning discovering one of Sussex’s finest stately homes, Petworth House, and its marvellous collection of art. There will also be time to wander around the Pleasure Garden.
For the afternoon, we’ll take you to one of the award-winning West Sussex vineyards for lunch. Next, you’ll tour the vineyard and learn about the world of winemaking followed by an expertled tutored tasting of delicious wines.

Depending on your preference, we offer either the morning at a vineyard followed by the afternoon exploring the delights of Brighton or vice versa.
Either way, you’ll have a delightful visit to a vineyard for a tour and wine tasting. In Brighton, we offer the option of a gourmet Brighton Food Tour, a trip up to 138 metres high in the sky at Brighton i360 or a tour of the Royal Pavilion - or any combination of all three!

Our Sussex Wine Tastings provide guests with a unique chance to meet the region's talented winemakers and savour their award-winning wines hosted at one of the city’s most distinctive venues. We have two options for wine tasting.
Single Vineyard Wine Tasting
Led by a winemaker from a local Sussex vineyard, our Single Vineyard Wine Tasting invites guests to explore the distinct characteristics of a specific vineyard. You’ll learn about the vineyard’s locality, its vines, and the unique wines they produce. This tasting features at least four different wines.
Multi Vineyard Wine Tasting
Guided by a local Master Sommelier, our Multi Vineyard Wine Tasting takes you on a journey through a diverse selection of wines from Sussex vineyards. This experience includes both sparkling and still wines, as well as some of the region’s spirits.

Located in the heart of Brighton, the Royal Pavilion is a Grade 1 listed palace that offers a variety of historical and enchanting event spaces for hosting a Sussex Wine Tasting event. The rooms vary in size and style so there is something suitable for all occasions.
With exquisite hand-painted Chinese style wallpaper and hanging lanterns, the William IV room offers an elegant setting for a wine tasting event, suitable for both day and evening gatherings.

The beautiful Red Drawing Room, historically used by Prince George’s elegant guests, retains its original 1820s decorative charm with distinctive dragon wallpaper and palm tree pillars.

This sophisticated space includes two adjoining rooms with a sunny balcony, offering an unmatched view of the Royal Pavilion’s glorious Regency garden.

State Banqueting Room
The Great Kitchen
The elaborate and glittering State Banqueting Room, highly theatrical in style, was the perfect backdrop for the celebrated feasts that George IV would have offered his courtiers and guests. In situ is a grand table, a permanent exhibit, offering a setting truly fit for a grand gathering. Splendour and extravagance take centre stage, with a huge dazzling centrepiece chandelier held in the claws of a glorious, silvered dragon. Treat your guests to a feast fit for a King in this magnificent dining venue.

The Royal Pavilion’s notable Great Kitchen, sometimes also known as the ‘King’s Kitchen’ was ultra-modern for its time. George IV, who was obsessed with food and dining, conceived this kitchen and would often escort and impress his VIP guests with this room showcasing his innovative facilities. This room now serves as a fantastic setting for a Sussex Wine Tasting and a banquet-style dinner. Alternatively, begin with a wine tasting in the Great Kitchen, followed by a seated dinner in the State Banqueting Room.

Brighton i360
The Old Ship Wine Cellars
For a truly unforgettable experience, treat your guests to a sky-high Sussex wine tasting on the Brighton i360 pod. As you gently ascend to 450ft, the breathtaking 360-degree views will offer a whole new perspective on Brighton, the South Downs, and the stunning Sussex coastline.
Enjoy a Sussex Wine Tasting surrounded by the shimmering sea and city lights. Choose from canapés, bowl food, or a seated formal ‘Sky Dining’ experience.

The Old Ship Hotel, Brighton’s oldest hotel, proudly stands on the bustling seafront. Originating from the historic 'Shippe Inn,' its intriguing cellars date back to 1559. Legend has it these eerie old caves, now meticulously restored, were once used by smugglers to hide their treasures.
With its characterful and quirky ambiance, the Wine Cellar offers a unique setting for a distinctive wine tasting and dining experience.

UnBarred Brewery
In addition to its numerous vineyards, Sussex boasts an increasing number of breweries. For an informal event, Unbarred Brewery in central Brighton is an ideal choice for sampling local brews.
Your guests will enjoy up to five beers and a guided talk from a certified beer server, covering tasting techniques, beer styles, and the UnBarred story. Delight your guests with catering provided by the local pizzeria, Fatto A Mano. Capacity: 50

So much of the pleasure of an English vineyard tour is the opportunity to dine among, or close to, the vines be it for lunch or for dinner. Most of our partner vineyards have delightful outdoor dining spaces and some also have beautifully designed restaurants.
A common goal of all our partner vineyards is to create delicious dishes using both local and seasonal produce wherever possible.
Our catering options range from the simple to the decidedly decadent and everything in between:
Share the joy of a homemade picnic hamper in among the vines along with a glass of English sparkling wine.
Dine in a more formal setting on a lunch of sharing plates with a bottle of English wine.

A Few Examples...
Our vineyard partner, Court Garden, provides delightful picnic hamper lunches filled with homemade savoury and sweet treats. You can choose to unpack your lunch either on one of the picnic tables or on blankets in among the vines.
Grazing board sharing lunches are featured by a few of our partner vineyards, including Albourne, Artelium, Ridgeview, Kinsbrook and Nutbourne. All offer both indoor and outdoor dining areas so are available to host you yearround and give you maginificent views of the vineyard and scenery beyond.
For a more formal dining experience, our partners at Wiston, Rathfinny, Leonardslee and Bolney all have well regarded restaurants with top executive chefs producing fantastic seasonal menus.
We also work with an amazing outside caterer who provides exceptional barbecued meat and vegetarian dishes alongside a delicious range of sides. Barbecues can be hosted at Albourne, Artelium, Court Garden, Highweald

Great British Wine Tours are experts in arranging appropriate transport for guests visiting the region. Travel within Sussex, especially to the more rural areas, needs to be planned as roads can be narrow with restricted access. We have the knowledge to make sure we get to the destination safely and on time. And of course, all of our tours include a driver meaning that you and your guests can relax and enjoy the wines!
Our small group tours include travel by chauffeured executive car or mini van. For larger groups we provide an executive minibus or coaches.

Great British Wine Tours is a tour operator run by me, the founder, Danny Edwards. I’m from Sussex and know the area well having been running Great British Wine Tours since 2017. We operate premium tours, both scheduled and bespoke, to the vineyards, food producers and breweries of Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Berkshire.
