Since 2011, High Voltage Prints has continued to grow and add technology and innovation to their business. Jason Lansdell knows how important it is to help his community and he makes sure to give everything he can back to the community that made him who he is today. “I was born just down the street at Floyd Medical Center,” said Mr. Lansdell. “I am completely tied into this community and I want to do whatever I can to help my home.” High Voltage Prints is a large believer in supporting local businesses and Mr. Lansdell and his team do everything they can to buy their supplies and services in Rome and Floyd County. “I want

ROME AND FLOYD COUNTY, GEORGIA
Along the blueways and greenways, a metro city emerges. On any given day there is an abundance of hustle, muscle and banter going on in Rome and Floyd County. Students are hustling to the classroom both private and public, whether it is at a Rome City School, Floyd County School, Darlington School, Unity Christian School or maybe it’s at one of the five college campuses of Berry College, Georgia Highlands College, Georgia Northwestern Technical College, Shorter University or Augusta University’s Rome Campus. There are people flexing their muscle, using their brain power with state of the art techniques at one of our world-class medical facilities or at one of our manufacturing plants where they are on the cutting edge of technology and innovation. Vehicles, automotive parts and household products are developed and manufactured at Pirelli Tire North America, OTR Wheel Engineering, Southeastern Mills, International Paper and more. Because of our highly acclaimed infrastructure, start-ups are happening and entrepreneurs have an added spirit in their step. Romans of all ages are jumping on their bicycles, grabbing their tennis rackets, heading for the trails to a Rome Braves baseball game or to the vibrant downtown. Banter happens here, an exchange of ideas and thoughts in local restaurants, listening to The Rome Symphony Orchestra, attending River Jam or taking in the Shakespeare Festival. One can see smiles, hear laughter and feel totally comfortable debating ideas that spark forward thinking as future plans are made. What is it about Rome and Floyd County that makes it so special? It is the hustle, muscle and banter. A community of hard workers, who are not afraid to roll-up their sleeves, get to know their neighbor and engage in conversation. The Exchange Club Family Resource Center Building a Better Community Through Families The Exchange Club Family Resource Center is a non-profit organization built to help better the community of Rome and Floyd County. The Family Resource Center sees a direct correlation between healthy families and a healthy community. Working hard to prevent child abuse and neglect by helping prepare future parents for parenthood, the agency gives struggling parents the tools needed to be successful. The goal of the Family Resource Center is to keep children in their home and supply parents with the skills to help keep a child safe and happy. “We know that foster care costs from $6,000 to $30,000 annually for one child, depending on their placement. The Family Resource Center can provide in-home child abuse prevention services for about $2,500 per family annually,” said Tina Bartleson, Leadership Rome XVI, Executive Director. The team at Family Resource Center is dedicated to bettering each family they encounter. Parent Aides meet weekly with a family in need and helps the family create a plan to address their unique challenges, then helps parents work toward making their home life a beneficial and healthy environment.
Lee Niedrach, President, Board of Directors Exchange Club Family Resource Center, Associate at McRae, Smith, Peek, Harman & Monroe LLP, Tina Bartleson, Executive Director of Exchange Club Family Resource Center, and Maxine Clark, Parent Aide at Exchange Club Family Resource Center.
The program is approximately nine months long and the Family Resource Center reports that three out of four families it works with show a reduction in the issues contributing to at-risk children. “What is so amazing about our program and the outreach at Family Resource Center, is the evidenced based curriculum we have,” said Mr. Lee Niedrach, Leadership Rome XXXIV, McRae, Smith, Peek, Harman & Monroe LLP. “We have seen that this works and we are going to continue to use these methods and expand even more.” The team at Family Resource Center, comprised of six full time and two part time employees, work hard to help their families receive an education, maintain a steady job and better handle stress, all to make the Rome and Floyd community even better.
Congratulations to Dr. Ben Pridemore for 50 years of serving Rome and Floyd County. Dr. Pridemore celebrated 50 years on Monday, June 12, 2017. Dr. Pridemore moved to Rome after finishing orthodontic school. "I knew that Rome would be the perfect place for me to start this business and it was," said Dr. Pridemore. He has now treated over 25,000 patients including four generations. Thank you Dr. Pridemore for your continued service to the community and contributing 25,000 smiles to Rome and Floyd County.
