Q3 CAMPAIGN UPDATE

ACTION 1

Conducted a marketing campaign from September 4 through 26 leading up to the LA sales mission. Assets highlighted quality of life, talent pipeline, and ecosystem support in target sectors of life science and advanced manufacturing. Campaign highlights: • Display: Impressions 455,847. Clicks 190. Clickthrough rate (CTR) .04%.

• Online Video: Impressions 145,028. Average VCR (view to completion) 76.94%.

• In-App Display: Impressions 102,695. Clicks 105. CTR .10%.

• In-App Geofencing: Impressions 144,488. Clicks 408. CTR .28%.

• LinkedIn: Impressions 69,519. Clicks 1,298. CTR 1.87%.

• Targeted Email: Audience 95,000. Views 19,443. View rate 20.47%.

ACTION 2

Contracted with ES Consulting to assist with lead development. We have 28 active leads in our business recruitment pipeline from our 2022 and 2023 sales mission and trade show activities. An active lead is a company that we have met with that has confirmed expansion plans and is interested in Spokane. These businesses represent a mix of our target industries; life science, advanced manufacturing, green tech and IT. We are filling the recruitment pipeline after Covid left the pipeline empty. These leads will need to be developed into wins, a process taking four to five years. Business Recruiting is an important part of our strategy for building our future economy.

Increase revenues for 50 underrepresented businesses by 25% in year one and 50% in year two after utilizing the accelerator.

Connect 100 underrepresented businesses with assistance and resources to promote the growth and expansion of existing companies and small businesses

ACTION 1

With AHANA, one cohort went through Spokane Inclusive Business Catalyst, a small business accelerator program. First cohort highlights: • Nine entrepreneurs of color completed 14 hours.

• Topics covered included: strategies for small business growth, using psychological principles, bookkeeping, and human resources.

• $40,0000 awarded grant dollars to be spent on business expenses such as: web develpoment, updating equipment, and more.

• Partnered with DH, who will provide pro-bono marketing support to accelerator graduates.

Provided support services to 68 underrepresented businesses (46% BIPOC, 41% women, and 13% veteran). Through our PTAC/APEX program, we support small businesses on registering, bid submittals, bid reviews, marketing assistance, contract performance, billing, small business designations and more. The other support came from our Spokane Inclusive Business Catalys cohort.

Establish Spokane regional partnerships, bridging businesses with education sectors to provide a minimum of 300 internships for postsecondary students

ACTION 1

Established the Internship Network through partnerships with regional businesses, colleges, and universities.

ACTION 2

Organized 13 professionals from 10 regional colleges and universities to study needs identified in the internship survey in an educator roundtable.

ACTION 3

Convened 32 professionals from 24 businesses and 4 higher education institutions to discover needs of the business community to increase capacity for internships in the Spokane Region in a business roundtable.

Provide workforce and employee upskill training support for 100 underserved businesses in the Spokane region through external partnerships and/or grant funding

Provide 5,000 students in the Spokane region career pathway experiences prior to high school graduation in partnership with Career Connect Washington and the Spokane STEM Network

Establish additional Spokane regional business and education partnerships to develop 30% more career pathways and the progression through pathways to postsecondary education and/ or employment

Successfully navigated three glass glaziers (AllStar Glass, Modern Glass and C&S Glass) through Apprenticeships Build America Grant to secure $150,000 in funding to pursue an apprenticeship program.

Engaged many businesses, including 4 underserved businesses in Industry Roundtable to help establish internship resources for all businesses in Spokane.

GSI led a Business AfterSchool event that supported 87 students in a career exploration opportunity.

ACTION 2

Met with Career and College Readiness staff at two high schools to provide focused job shadows to Juniors and seniors.

Partnered with Eastern Washington University and Providence Health to establish a Summer Bridge LER Partnership (Summer Bridge Eastern Washington University) through the use of the Merit Learning and Employment Record (LER). EWU hosted 7 students for three weeks and an additional 19 students for one week in this inaugural session.

ACTION 3

Led a roundtable with one school district, three local manufacturers and one entity representing many advanced manufacturers to create a pathway from high school to family sustaining wage careers.
