ATR (Amateur to Ride): Open to amateur riders only. Attire: Appropriate class attire is required although Western chaps & English-type coats are optional. Dogs: Dogs must be leashed or they will be impounded. Dressage Suitability: Judged on way of going, submission, obedience & suitability as a dressage mount; all legal English bits acceptable. No martingales allowed. Freestyle Liberty: Open to all breeds & limited to the first 10 horses entered; judged on presence and way of going. The time limit is 1-1/2 minutes, and two handlers are permitted in the arena. Lunge whips, shaker cans, splint or bell boots are not allowed. Horses must be at least two years old. Bring your music on cassette tape or CD. Gaits: Green as Grass – walk, trot or jog, canter or lope; Country/English and Hunter Pleasure = walk, trot and canter; Dressage Suitability – walk, free walk on long rein, trot, sitting trot and canter; Western Pleasure, walk, jog and lope. Schooling Hunter: Open to any horse or rider combination. May not cross enter into W/T poles or cross rails. Walk Trot Poles: Open to riders in their first year of showing who have not won three blue ribbons in any horse show. Cross Rails: Not to be penalized for trotting Gate Rule: The gate will be closed two minutes after the first horse enters the ring for a class. Green as Grass: Legal training devices permitted. You may show your horse in other performance classes with these devices, but it will not be judged or placed. Lead line: Riders may not cross-enter any other performance class. This includes walk/trot classes. Maiden Horse: A horse who has never won one blue ribbon in the class it is entering. If “Sugar” has never won any Western
Pleasure class prior to this show, she can be shown in “Western Pleasure, Maiden Horse”. Maiden rider: A rider who has never won a blue ribbon in the class he/she is entering. If “Doug” has never won any Hunter Pleasure class prior to this show, he can show in “Hunter Pleasure, Maiden Rider”. Refunds: Refunds of all fees (except office fees) will be made only in case of illness or injury to horse or rider and approval of show management. Reining Treining: Open to any horse or rider combination Ribbons: Ribbons will be given through sixth place in each class except Halter Championships where only championship and reserve championship are placed. Training Devices: Legal training devices are permitted in Green as Grass class only. You may show your horse in other performance classes with these devices, but it will not be judged or placed. This is a “ride thought the gate” show: All fees must be paid before leaving the show grounds. Anyone not doing so will be barred from all shows put on by GSEC until the debt is paid. This horse show is conducted in accordance with rules of the Arabian Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. Indemnity and Responsibility: Submission of an entry to this show constitutes agreement to the following: Exhibitor agrees to indemnity and hold Great Southwest Equestrian Center (GSEC), the Show, the Show Committee, or any Show Official, harmless against any and all claims, demands, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees for the defense thereof, arising from the conduct or management of Exhibitor’s business or its use of the premises or from any breach on the part of Exhibitors of any conditions of this Agreement, or from any act or negligence of the Exhibitor, its agents, contractors, employees, guests or invitees in or about the premises. In case of any action or proceeding brought against Great Southwest Equestrian Center, the Show, the Show Committee, or any Show Official, by reason of such claim, Exhibitor, upon notice from Southwest Equestrian Center, the Show, the Show Committee, or any Show Official is not responsible for accidents, fire or theft.
