RULES AND REGULATIONS Online entry available at www.horseshowsonline.com This show is a regular member of the United States Equestrian Federation. Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the USEF Rule Book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. ENTRIES: Every Entry Blank must have the signature of the owner/authorized agent, or trainer & be accompanied by a check for the amount of the stall or an open check. NO NUMBERS WILL BE ISSUED WITHOUT AN OPEN CHECK OR VALID CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. THERE WILL BE A $60 LATE FEE FOR ENTRIES POST MARKED AFTER APRIL 20TH. COGGINS MUST BE INDICATED ON ENTRY BLANK OR PRESENTED AT SHOW. There will be an office fee of $60.00 for every horse on the show grounds that will cover ring schooling, scratches, adds and security. It is the responsibility of the person making the entry to execute properly and complete all necessary information pertaining to each entry made in accordance with the rules of the USEF. There will be a $100.00 fee plus stall or grounds charges for any non-showing horse. Non showing horses must complete an official entry blank. SETTLEMENT OF ACCOUNTS: All show accounts must be closed at the end of each week. Any open entry accounts will be closed by management and a $60 processing fee will be added per entry. All questions about show accounts must be addressed within 48 hours of the conclusion of the show. Mistakes must be resolved with 48 hours by contacting Horse Show Office. You must have your Credit Card present at checkout. STALLS: STALL FEE - $225. Stalls are permanent 10 x 10 box stalls with doors. Feed, hay and bedding available on show grounds. Manure to be disposed of in designated areas. NO MANURE IN TRASH CONTAINERS. No stall doors or panels may be removed. A $55 grounds fee per horse per day will be charged for horses not purchasing a stall. NO OUTSIDE SHAVINGS. Violators will be charged $100 per stall. No sharing of stall allowed. REFUNDS: Prior to close of entries, entry fees shall be refunded upon presentation of a written statement. After that date any refunds will require a signed veterinary statement stating that the horse is unable to perform or a doctor’s statement regarding rider’s illness. In either case there will be $60.00 processing fee. Stall fees cannot be refunded after entry closing date. RETURNED CHECKS: $50.00 or 10% of the check amount whichever is greater, will be charged for all returned checks. Accounts will be given 5 days to pay with certified funds or be reported to USEF (GR913) CREDENTIALS: ALL EXHIBITORS IN THE PONY, JUNIOR HUNTER AND ANY AMATEUR SECTION MUST PRESENT THEIR MEASUREMENT CARD AND/OR AMATEUR CERTIFICATIONS at the show office before numbers can be released. Send Photostats of cards with entry. All ponies or horses not having current measurement cards will be measured at an announced time and place. Anyone not presenting a current USEF/USHJA membership card (or copy) will be charged the Show Pass fees. DRUGS AND MEDICATIONS: Current USEF rules relating to drugs and medications will be enforced. Each horse entered must pay $15.00 Drug/Medication Fee plus an $8.00 USEF fee. Sharps and medical waste must be disposed of in sharps containers. Anyone found dumping medical waste into manure or trash bins may be fined up to $100 for improper disposal. USHJA Fee is $7.00 per entry. ANIMAL WELFARE: Refer to USEF GR 839 regarding welfare, illness and injury rulings. ADDS/SCRATCHES: ALL ADDS MUST BE COMPLETED IN THE SHOW OFFICE NO LATER THAN 5:00 PM THE DAY PRIOR TO THE CLASS. No same day Adds will be accepted. Additional scratch rules will be posted. SCHOOLING: Times will be posted & announced. Hard hats must be worn when mounted. CAMPERS: Camper spaces are available for $280 or $350. Please reserve on entry blank!! One pump out per week is included. DOGS: Dogs are not permitted to be loose on competition grounds and must be on a leash or otherwise contained. Individuals must not lead dogs on a leash while mounted. Dog owners failing to comply with this rule may be subject to penalty under Ch. 6 & 7, as well as issuance of warning cards. Loose dogs may be impounded by Animal Control. $200 FINE WILL BE IMPOSED. CHANGES: Management reserves the right to change, cancel or combine classes, alter courses and do all things necessary to compensate for excessive or inadequate entries. ATTIRE: It is compulsory for riders in all Hunter, Jumper and Hunt Seat Equitation classes, both open and restricted including Hunter Hack, where jumping is required and when mounted anywhere on the show grounds to wear properly fastened protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials)/SEI(Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. It must be properly fitted with harness secured. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is proper in place. See GR801.2. Riders must be properly attired. Numbers must be worn and clearly visible. See USEF GR 801. JUMPER: Ties in Jumper classes jump off for first place only. Ties for all other places to be determined by the fastest time in the first round among those with equal number of faults. Ties for Champion & Reserve remain tied. MANUAL POLING IS PROHIBITED. HUNTER: Courses will simulate fences found in the hunting field such as brush, wall, in & out, oxer, post/rails, gates, aiken and panels. In some cases the area of the Courtesy Circle may be restricted by mandatory line. This line will be indicated on the course diagram and physically in the ring. Classes judged on performance and soundness unless otherwise noted. Sections will be combined or cancelled in accordance with USEF rules. Champion & Reserve Championships will be awarded in all sections excluding Warm Up Classes. WARNING!!! UNDER TEXAS LAW (CHAPTER 87, CIVIL PRACTICE AND REMEDIES CODE), AN EQUINE PROFESSIONAL IS NOT LIABLE FOR AN INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF A PARTICIPANT IN EQUINE ACTIVITIES RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF EQUINE ACTIVITIES. JUMP ORDER: A rotating jumping order will be established for all classes over fences. Riders or trainers with conflicts due to having classes in both rings must see the Paddock Masters so that necessary adjustments can be made. NO RING WILL BE HELD MORE THAN 3 MINUTES DUE TO CONFLICTS FOOTING: Mega Ring I – 145’x265” with International all-weather footing. Otto Sport 2 – 125x275 with Otto Sport Footing. Tellepsen and Main Indoor – 150x250 with Sandy Loam Footing. Wheless arena – 125x250 with Sandy Loam Footing.


RIBBONS, TROPHIES AND CHAMPIONSHIP: All Hunter classes receive a Trophy and 8 ribbons and all Jumper Classes receive a Trophy and 6 ribbons unless otherwise noted. Each Section will receive a Champion and Reserve award based on points earned (GR808.6). Hunter Champion & Reserve (HU147) Jumper Champion & Reserve (JP110) PRIZES: Prize money is indicated for each class. All prize money will be mailed to exhibitors within 2 weeks after the show. Prize money will be withheld if Social Security number is not on file. Prize money will be payable to the owner unless written authorization stating otherwise is on file with the show secretary. (Unless otherwise indicated on individual classes) RESPONSIBILITY: Submission of entry to this show constitutes an agreement to the following: Exhibitor agrees to indemnify and hold Great SW Eq Center & Horse Show Officials harmless against any claims, demands, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney fee for the defense thereof, arising from the conduct or management of Exhibitor’s business or it’s use of the premises or from any breach on the part of Exhibitors of any conditions of this Agreement, or contractors, agents, employees, guests or invitees in or about the premises. In case of any action or proceeding brought against Great SW Eq Center or Horse Show Management by reason of such claim exhibitor, upon notice, covenants to defend such action or proceeding by council acceptable to owner. Exhibitor is responsible for his/her own property and the Great SW Eq.Center or this horse show are not responsible for accidents, fire or theft. OPERATION OF MOTORIZED VEHICLES: Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS 1. Horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the stables. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be required to leave the competition grounds upon request by Competition Management. Documentation should consist of one of the following methods mentioned below. The frequency of vaccine administration should be per the vaccine manufacturers’ or veterinarian’s recommendations. It is recommended that vaccines are administered by or under the direction of a veterinarian. 2. In the case of vaccines administered by a veterinarian, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide documentation fro the veterinarian on documenting that the horse in question received the vaccinations; name of the vaccines and date of vaccine administration 3. In the case of vaccines administered by a person other than a veterinarian, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a receipt of the vaccine purchase which is signed by the owner or agent with care, custody and control of the horse; name serial number and expiration date of the vaccine; and date of vaccine administration. 4. In the case of a horse that is unable to receive either of the vaccinations due to a history of adverse reactions, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a letter from the veterinarian on official letterhead stating that the horse in question cannot be vaccinated due to medical concerns and a log of temperatures taken twice daily for the seven days prior to entering the competition grounds. These horses must also have their temperature taken and logged twice daily while on the competition grounds. The log of temperatures should be provided to the Competition Management, steward, or technical delegate when requested.

HORSE REGISTRATIONS: All horses competing in Federation non-breed restricted licensed competitions with hunter, hunter breeding, jumper and hunter seat equitation classes (except those activities enumerated in GR901.9, items 1-9) must be properly identified and must obtain a Registration Number from USHJA. A registration number for each horse must be entered on all entry forms for licensed competitions Proof of registration must be presented to the Show Secretary before numbers can be released. To be eligible for National Regional or Zone Horse of the Year Awards, and to enter a USEF Computer Ranking List Class horses must also be registered with the USEF. Exception for USEF Computer Ranking List: Citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation need not have USEF Registration. SHARPS DISPOSAL Sharps containers will be provided in all barns for the disposal of needles and other disposable sharp instruments. ALL items of this nature MUST be disposed of in the provided containers. NO SHARPS are to be disposed of I any receptacle other than the provided sharps container. Any individual or entry not in compliance will be subject to a $100 fine per USEF 1210.4.


FEDERATION MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active, and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining, and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A non-member may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions, and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $45 Show Pass registration fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the requirements of this rule; 1)leadline; 2)exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4)classes for 4-H members; 5)walk/trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6)USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA endorsed Reining Competitions; 8) Opportunity classes 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation; 10)USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.

FEDERATION ENTRY AGREEMENT By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing this entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I AGREE that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of the USEF (“the Federation”) and the local rules of the competition. I AGREE to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the Competition. I will accept as final the decision of the Hearing Committee on any question arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Federation, their officials, directors and employees for any action taken under the Rules. I represent that I am eligible to enter and/or participate under the rules, and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I also agree that as a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of entry, the Federation and/or the Competition may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cablecasts, broadcasts, internet, film, new media or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the competition for the promotion coverage or benefit of the competition, sport, or the Federation. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way as to jeopardize amateur status. I hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to misappropriation. The construction and application of Federation Rules are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any action instituted against the Federation must be filed in New York State. See GR 908.4

THJA MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT THJA MEMBERS SHALL BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL CLASSES AT COMPETITIONS RECOGNIZED BY THJA. A PERSON/HORSE MAY REGISTER WITH THE THJA AT A RECOGNIZED HORSE SHOW AS LONG AS THE APPLICATION(S) AND PAYMENT ACCOMPANIES THE OFFICIAL HORSE SHOW RESULTS. REGISTRATIONS MAY ALSO BE COMPLETED ONLINE WITH A CREDIT CARD AT THE THJA WEBSITE BEFORE THE END OF THE SHOW. ALL RIDERS AND TRAINERS, IN ADDITION TO OWNERS OF THJA REGISTERED HORSES MUST BE MEMBERS OF THJA FOR THJA POINTS TO COUNT

THJA RECOGNITION STATEMENT Both shows are operated in accordance with the current rules of the Texas Hunter and Jumper Association by which they are recognized and rated “A” in High Performance Conformation, High Performance Hunter, Performance Hunters 3’3” and 3’6”, Green Conformation 3’6”, Green Hunter 3’, Green Hunter 3’3”, Green Hunter 3’6, Green Hunter 3’9”, Amateur Owner Hunters 3’3” and 3’6”, Pony Hunter, Green Pony Hunter, Junior Hunters 3’3” and 3’6”, Children’s Pony Hunter, Children’s and Adult Hunter, Modified Adult and Modified Children’s Hunter, and Jr/AO, Children’s and Adult Jumper. Points for placings in Junior, Children’s, Pony and Adult Equitation and Hunter Breeding Horse will be credited in accordance with the rules of THJA.

$1000 USHJA GREEN HUNTER INCENTIVE STAKE Open to horses of any age that are eligible to compete as a green hunter under Federation rules. Horses must be enrolled in the USHJA Green Incentive Program and pay the annual enrollment fee to participate in the Green Incentive Stake classes and to be eligible for the Green Hunter Championship. Additionally, horses must be registered with USHJA and recorded with USEF to participate. There will be a $35 Scratch Fee after the order is drawn. Open to all eligible horses. Riders, owners and trainers must be active current members of the USEF and USHJA before the start of the class. The order of go will be posted a minimum of one hour prior to the start of the class. Horses will not jog for soundness. During the two phases of the class, all horses entered must have their numbers clearly visible and be ridden only in the designated National Hunter Derby warm up area. This includes horses entered simultaneously in another class. Round 1 to be shown over a hunter classic type course consisting of a minimum of 10 obstacles designed to simulate those reminiscent of the hunt field. To include 4 option jumps set at 3’5”. To be judged on performance, hunter pace and style, movement and brilliance. A minimum of 12 horses including horses tied for 12th place, if available, will return for round 2, the Handy Hunter Course. The Handy Hunter Course will consist of a minimum of 8 obstacles and will include a minimum of two required “handy” options. Four option jumps set at 3’5” will also be included. To be judged on style, brilliance and handiness. Horse/rider combinations will receive one (1) bonus point for every high option jumped without major faults up to a maximum of four (4). Numeric round scores and bonus points will be announced separately and will be combined for the total round 2 score. Round 1 and round 2 scores will be combined to determine final placings.
