STATE AND FEDERAL REPORTING Compared to last week: Slaughter lambs were 11.00 – 15.00 higher on comparable trades and feeder lambs had no test. Slaughter ewes traded 14.00 – 28.00 higher and slaughter bucks traded 20.00 higher. Kid goats traded 4.00 – 8.00 higher. Nannies/does traded 10.00 lower and bucks/ Billies traded 10.00 lower. Traded activity was moderate on moderate buyer demand. In the sheep supply 55% slaughter lambs, 45% slaughter ewes and bucks. The goat supply consisted of 52% slaughter kids, 33% slaughter nannies, 15% slaughter billies and wethers and balance being replacement nannies. Sheep and lambs sold on a per cwt basis and goats sold on a per head basis unless otherwise noted.

About 400 head of slaughter cattle were sold today with the market trending about $2-3 lower as compared to last. Demand for lean cattle was again high, however, demand for fat cattle dropped, with a lot of overlap in prices between lean and fat. Bulls this week were lower as compared to last, attributed mainly to a significant difference in quality. Demand for lean beef slaughter cows was very high, ranging from $99.00 -107.50/ cwt. Fat beef cows were slightly lower and steady compared to last week, ranging from $103.00-107.50.
