Heifers weighing under 600 lbs traded 4.00 to 6.00 higher. Not enough comparable sales on feeder heifers weighing over 600 lbs for a market trend. Buyer demand was very good for weaned calves with strong fall vaccination programs, and light to moderate for calves with only spring shots. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to weak. Trading activity was moderate to active. The supply consisted of 91 percent feeder cattle, 9 percent slaughter cows and bulls with the balance replacement stock. The feeder cattle supply was comprised of approximately 64 percent steers and 36 percent heifers.

Approximately 45 percent of the feeder supply weighed over 600 lbs.

Over 450 head of slaughter cattle sold today. All slaughter cattle were fairly steady today as compared to last week.

FUTURE COMBINED FEEDER/SLAUGHTER SALE: Fleshy beef cows were steady as compared to last week and WED. NOV 12TH, 10:30 AM ranged $114.50-121.00, as were lean beef cows which ranged 110.00-117.50. Thinner beef cows were lower by an average Advanced Consignments of $1.00-2.00/cwt. Holstein slaughter cows were lower today in all types by $5.00-6.00/cwt. Lean Holstein cows averaged November 5, 2014 in the mid eighties to low nineties, and smooth Holsteins in HD# KIND WEIGHT COMMENTS the mid-upper nineties. Several of exceptional quality broke TOWN 425-450# WEANED, DBL SHOTS $100/cwt. The bull market was interesting today with lighter KREMMLING, CO 35 BLK ANG HFRS 925# OPEN weight (900-1200#) bulls bringing considerably more as KREMMLING, CO 15 BLK ANG HFRS KREMMLING, CO 70 BLK ANG STRS/HFRS 425-450# OPEN compared to last week, and heavy weight bulls steady.
