Compared to last month: Trade Activity and demand was good to very good. The majority of the run were steers under 400 lbs trading 8.00 higher to sharply higher on good demand. Buyer demand for the heavier end of the steers coming off grass was very good and traded sharply higher than the prior month on a light test. The run consisted of several pre-conditioned, good quality Holstein steers. The supply consisted of approximately 82% Holstein steers with the balance being Holstein cross steers, Jersey cross steers and Holstein heifers. Approximately 20% of the supply weighed over 600 lbs. STATE AND FEDERAL REPORTING Compared to a week ago: Slaughter lambs traded steady to 10.00 lower in most weight ranges. Feeder lambs were steady and slaughter ewes were unevenly steady, but a weak undertone was observed. In goats, slaughter kids traded steady to weak. Slaughter nannies were steady to 5.00 higher and slaughter billies traded steady to firm. Trade activity was good and demand was moderate to good. In the sheep supply 19% slaughter lambs, 36% feeder lambs and 45% slaughter ewes and bucks. The goat supply consisted of 83% slaughter kids, 11% slaughter nannies and the balance slaughter billies and wethers. The run consisted of mostly small lots with a few big runs. Today’s trade activity and demand were heavily impacted by the drop of the CME Feeder Cattle Futures. Feeder steers under 700 lbs traded sharply lower than the prior week with steers over 700 lbs trading steady to 2.00 higher. was higher in most classes of slaughter cattle today. Beef cows ranged 73.50-85.00 for lean and 80.0089.00 for fleshier cows. Holstein cows averaged in the mid to upper $70s and fleshy Holstein cows averaged in the low $80s. Lean heiferettes continue to sell well, and we had a lot of them today from Cheyenne and Kremmling. Beef cows came from WY, UT and CO today with a wide variety of lean to fleshy and in good body condition. Very nice light feeders out of Kremmling were a highlight of
