STATE AND FEDERAL REPORTING Compared to last week: Slaughter lambs and bucks were too thinly traded for an adequate market test. Slaughter ewes traded 3.00 5.00 higher. Feeder lambs traded mostly steady on a thin test. Slaughter kids traded 5.00 10.00 lower on a light test. Slaughter nannies, billies and wethers were too thinly traded for an adequate market test. Winter showed up on the front range of Colorado this week bringing lows around zero and the highs in the single digits. Limited snow accumulation came with this cold snap. Consigners opted to sit this week out giving buyers limited offerings to fill orders. The majority of the sheep today consisted of a set of ewes that had been in a feedlot. Trade activity was light on moderate buyer demand. In the sheep supply 10% slaughter lambs and 19% feeder lambs, 71% slaughter ewes and bucks. The goat supply consisted of 90% slaughter kids, 5% slaughter nannies and the balance slaughter billies and wethers. Fleshy beef cows Advanced Consignments ranged $114.50-127.00, lean beef cows ranged 106.50119.50, and thin beef cows averaged 99.00. Lean and smooth November 19, 2014 Holstein cows had a lot of overlap and ranged 105.50-115.00.
