STATE AND FEDERAL REPORTING Compared to two weeks ago: Slaughter and feeder lambs traded steady to 3.00 higher. Slaughter ewes and bucks traded 1.00 – 4.00 higher with the best demand for fleshier ewes. Slaughter kids traded mostly 5.00 – 10.00 higher. Slaughter nannies, billies and wethers were too thinly traded for an adequate market test, but very strong demand noted. Trade activity and buyer demand was moderate. In the sheep supply 35% slaughter lambs, 28 % feeder lambs, 35% slaughter ewes and bucks and the balance replacement ewes. The goat supply consisted of 90% slaughter kids, 6% slaughter nannies and the balance slaughter billies and wethers. Sheep and lambs sold on a per cwt basis and goats sold on a per head basis unless otherwise noted.

Today was the first day that CME was not maxed out at -300 points ending the five day stretch of a correction. Trading activity was moderate on very good buyer demand. The supply included approximately 40% feeder cattle with the balance consisting of replacement Stock. In the feeder supply 64% steers and 35% heifers with the balance consisting of bulls. With the CME going on day five being maxed at -300 points per day was the talk of the sale today. Slaughter cows and bulls mostly steady with a strong interest in feeding quality cows still. Trading activity was moderate on good to very good buyer demand. The supply consisted of 21 percent feeder cattle, 18 percent slaughter cows and bulls, and the balance replacement stock. The feeder cattle supply was comprised of approximately 41 percent steers and 59 percent heifers. Approximately 72 percent of the feeder supply weighed over 600 lbs. Saturday, December 13th, 2014 we sold 3,647 head of Cow/Calf Pairs, Spring Calving Stock Cows & Bred Heifers. Buyer demand was good on all classes, a good crowd in the seats made for a very good auction on all classes. In comparison to our last female sale today saw some new highs on the very front end kind but could feel a resistance trending lower on the middle aged & older cows as well as the 1st Calf Heifers. Plan to be back next Saturday for day two of over 7,000 females
