Compared to last week: Slaughter lambs were steady to weak on comparable sales. Slaughter ewes and bucks were firm compared to a light test last week. Feeder lambs had no comparable sales, higher undertone was noted. Slaughter goats on all classes were weaker on a much lighter supply this week. Trading activity was moderate to active for all classes of sheep and goats.

Demand was moderate to good. In the sheep supply 11% slaughter lambs, 42% feeder lambs, 42% slaughter ewes and bucks, balance replacement ewes. The goat supply consisted of 40% slaughter kids, 43% slaughter nannies and 17% slaughter wethers and bucks. Sheep and lambs sold on a per cwt basis and goats sold on a per head basis unless otherwise noted.

Nearly 400 head of holstein slaughter cows, over 200 colored cows and 14 bulls were represented today. Fat beef cows were lower in comparison to ast week and ranged from the high 80’s to high 90’s. Lean beef cows averaged in the low to mid 80’s. Holstein cows were higher than last week by several dollars; the fatter holstein cows ranged from 82.00-103.00, Lean holstein cows averaged in the low 80’s.
