Trading activity was moderate on good buyer demand. The supply consisted of about 99% holstein steers, with the remaining balance being holstein heifers. About 40% of the supply weighed over 600 lbs. State and federal reporting Compared to last week: Slaughter lambs traded mostly steady to 2.00 higher. Feeder lambs traded unevenly steady. Slaughter ewes traded mostly steady to 2.00 higher, with instances of 10.00 – 15.00 higher on very high dressing ewes. No price analysis on slaughter bucks due to a very thin test this week. Slaughter kids traded unevenly steady.

Slaughter nannies traded mostly 10.00 higher. No trend available on slaughter billies due to limited comparable sales, however a lower undertone was noted. Slaughter wethers traded mostly steady. Trading activity was moderate to active on good demand. In the sheep supply 50% slaughter lambs, 19% feeder lambs and 31% slaughter ewes and bucks. The goat supply consisted of 45% slaughter kids, 39% slaughter nannies, 13% slaughter billies and wethers, with the balance being replacement nannies. Sheep and lambs sold on a per cwt basis and goats sold on a per head basis unless otherwise noted.

Of the nearly 400 head today, the vast majority of weigh cows were holstein. The holstein cows were of overall outstanding quality and condition, and averaged $2 higher than last week. Fat holsteins ranged in the mid to upper eighties, lean holsteins were in the high seventies. Thin holsteins were in short supply and averaged in the low seventies. The colored weigh cows ranged from 75.00-89.00.Bulls were lower this week by $3-5. There was a good supply of fat holstein heifers from several consigners which ranged from 93.00-102.00.
