Передмова

Як грати?

Перед вами перша книжка серії “Greeny the Brownie”, що знайомить маленьких читачів із веселим домовиком на ім’я Greeny. Подібно до інших чарівних створінь, Greeny вміє чаклувати, а отже на нього чекає багато пригод. Ідея створити книгу-історію про чарівного домовика з’явилась під час роботи з дітьми дошкільного та молодшого шкільного віку, для яких і видана дана книжка. Легкі та цікаві історії перетворюють читання англійською на захоплюючу подорож, а різноманітні вправи та ігри роблять процес навчання змістовним та продуктивним.

• Гра «мемо» (історії 6 та 10). Завдання гри – зібрати якнайбільше парних карток (із однаковим зображенням). Виріжте картки та розкладіть їх картинками вниз. Гравці по черзі обирають дві картки, називаючи слово, що зображене на картинці. Якщо обрана пара карток має однакову картинку – гравець забирає їх собі. Переможцем вважається гравець із найбільшою кількістю парних карток.

Як покращити знання англійської разом з Greeny? 1. Читання. Кожна історія написана доступною для дітей мовою та поділена на кілька частин, що полегшує сприйняття тексту. Кольорові ілюстрації та цікаві герої створюють додаткову мотивацію для читання англійською. 2. Лексика та письмо. Основна лексика до історій подається візуально за допомогою маленьких картинок. До кожної частини історії розроблено лексичні вправи, що не займають багато часу, але допомагають засвоїти нові слова. Сторінки з прописами стануть в пригоді тим, хто хоче покращити письмові навики. 3. Говоріння. Покращити навички говоріння можна за допомогою ігор з картками чи кубиками, які стимулюють використання нових слів у процесі гри.

• Гра «бінго» (історія 7). Завдання гри – закрити картинками усі слова на картці. Виріжте поля із словами. Поля із картинками розріжте на окремі картки. Кожен гравець отримує поле із словами. Ведучий обирає одну із картинок і підносить її догори. Гравці, що мають відповідне слово мають якнайшвидше назвати його. Гравець, що назвав слово першим, отримує картку із зображенням і закриває нею одне слово на своєму полі. Переможцем вважається той, хто першим закриє картинками усі слова на своєму полі. • Настільна гра (історія 8). Завдання гри – пройти від старту до фінішу. Для гри знадобиться гральний кубик та фішка для кожного учасника. Гравці по черзі кидають кубик та просувають фішку на відповідну кількість клітинок. Ставши на клітинку, гравець має назвати слово, що на ній зображено. Переможцем вважається той, хто першим дійде до фінішу. • Гра «доміно» (історія 9). Завдання гри – викласти слова та картинки в ряд. Виріжте картки та розподіліть їх порівну між учасниками. Покладіть одну картку на стіл, назвіть картинку, що зображена на ній. Інші гравці мають підібрати та покласти наступною картку, слово на якій відповідає зображенню на попередній картці. Переможцем вважається той, хто першим позбудеться усіх своїх карток. 5

t’s a sunny morning and I want to go for a walk. I take my magic apple to say hi to Pinky. She answers “Hello, Greeny” and I can see that she is not at home. “Where are you, Pinky?” I ask. “I’m at the playground. Come here and join me!” “But Pinky, I never go to the playground; there are so many children there who can see us!” I say. “Ha-ha! Greeny, it’s early morning and there are no children here. We can play.” “Okay”, I say and I appear next to Pinky under the tree at the playground. Match the pictures with the sentences.
