Due to the position of the Faroe Islands in the North Atlantic Ocean, the islands are characterized by changeable weather, as it is quite possible to experience all four seasons in one day. The unpredictable weather creates a magical and dramatic light, which in turn creates the most amazing motifs for a fantastic photo tour to the Faroe Islands.

DAY 1: Arrive to the Faroe Islands. Pick up your hire car at the airport and enjoy the rest of the day on Vágar island. Drive to the village of Gásadalur, walk along the marked path, and enjoy the impressive view of Tindhólm. Do not miss the attractive waterfall that runs down into the sea. Overnight on Vágar.

DAY 2: Day trip to the bird island of Mykines. Enjoy an impressive sailing trip alongside the majestic sea cliffs. On the island you will see the charming puffins with their colourful red beaks and the striking gannets that only breed on Mykines holm. Overnight on Vágar.

Incl. Return ferry, guide and lunch

DAY 3: Saksun is a picturesque village at the bottom of what was once an inlet surrounded by steep mountains. Continue to Tjørnuvík to get a beautiful view of the rock formations, "the Giant and the Witch." Cross the bridge and drive towards the village of Eiði, where there is a view of Slættaratindur. The exceptional scenery continues as you drive to Gjógv to see the distinctive natural harbour. A day with countless photo stops en route. Overnight on Eysturoy.

DAY 4: Drive from Leirvík through the sub sea tunnel to Klaksvík. The tunnel is decorated with "light" art by the Faroese artist Tróndur Patursson. It is easy to explore the other Northern Isles from Klaksvík, each with its own dramatic landscape. Visit Viðareiði, the most northerly village on Viðoy or Kunoy island where you can walk in the pretty little plantation. Overnight on Eysturoy.

DAY 5: Walk along one of the paths at Toftavatn, which is a popular getaway for the locals. Afterwards drive around the lake towards the village of Nes and onto Eystnes where the windmills are. There is an historical rectory in the village of Nes which is now a town museum and well worth a visit. Overnight in Tórshavn.

DAY 6: Explore Tórshavn with a walk through the old town, Tinganes and the charming area called Reyn with its small black houses and grass roofs. Visit the Nordic House, an architectural gem that hosts many local and international events. We also recommend a drive to Kirkjubøur, the ancient cultural centre. In Tórshavn, you will find restaurants and cafés where you can enjoy excellent food. Overnight in Tórshavn.

DAY 7: On the way to the airport, we recommend that you take the exhilarating and fascinating two-hour boat trip to the Vestmanna sea cliffs, sailing between the cliffs and into the grottoes. Continue onto the airport and deliver the hire car. Departure with Atlantic Airways.
