grasshopper summer Since we started Elsie Green ten years ago, we have worked hard like ants in the spring, fall and winter, then played like grasshoppers all summer long. We have extended our shopping trips to month long European adventures, taken long weekend road trips, and read book after book in our backyard hammocks. If you celebrate Christmas, then the ritual of acquiring the tree is most likely the centerpiece of your holiday tradition. Choosing the lot, choosing the tree and arranging a special day and time to decorate it are all activities that evoke memories of seasons past and excitement for the current year’s adventure.

2020 was a challenge, but occasionally we found a silver lining among the clouds. The family picnic is one of those silver linings. Instead of cocktail hour in a bar, we’re gathering in parks and backyards, relaxed in our shorts, enjoying the company of our family and friends coming and going at their leisure.
