Studio Brief Title

Brief 03 - Linda House Chutney Synopsis Design the branding and promotional material for a small homemade chutney company. The concept for this brief was to communicate the homemade, authentic nature of the business through the use of photography and clean, functional typography.

Evaluation This brief is most definitely a brief i have enjoyed doing this year, it has allowed me to develop and forward my skills in branding and identity. Working with photography to re-enforce a concept and using it as a main tool was also something new to me but something i enjoyed developing and using within the brief. It allowed me to develop my research skills as well, looking into existing food identities and analysing these to form an opinion to inform my concept. I have also considered the finish of the outcomes to the brief i wanted to concentrate on bringing the quality home-made feel out through the branding applications so i developed the business cards so that they were sandwiched between a rich red vermillion stock, which tied in well with the colour pallet of the brief and i think worked really well towards the overall feel of the outcomes. Also a good part of the brief was considering the range of applications that i could apply the branding to, this involved designing a mobile site that functioned for customers to find more out about the brand and also buy the products, working primarily with this different screen size allowed me to focus and learn on designing for smaller screens which has benefited me in every other web brief i have done since. Overall, i think this brief is a success the outcomes reflect the concept and audience they are intended for really well.
