Studio Brief Title

Brief 05 - Dialogue Synopsis The theme of the exhibition is ‘dialogue’ where each creative will submit a design that will be used in a blind collaboration. Contributors must be open to their submissions being manipulated through the use of print and the match making process, that will pair the two submissions together. This will create a series of screen-printed artworks that will be displayed throughout the running of the exhibition.

The concept for my Dialogue submission was to communicate that dialogue is in fact nothing without communication and vice versa.

Evaluation The Dialogue brief is one of the briefs i have enjoyed this year due to it being a collective thing that most of my peers where also doing and supporting. And i think it is that feeling of being involved in something and supporting other creatives in what they are doing by me personally producing some work for their exhibition is what made the brief so good.

The work i produced i think really draws on my conceptual thinking as the brief really led to the outcome being a more conceptual one appose to a literal depiction of dialogue. And i feel that the concept i produced for this brief is strong and really shows how i can work on different types of briefs, designing and thinking of different types of outcomes.

Due to the outcome not being literate, i had to make the concept very strong and also make the outcome visually pleasing so it was still a nice piece of exhibition work regardless of whether people understood the concept and i feel i achieved this.

The idea of the blind collaboration was something that i enjoyed too because it forced conversation between someone else and i at the launch of the exhibition and this was good because it got me networking with some industry contacts which is always of benefit.

Overall, this brief was an enjoyable quick turnaround brief that allowed be to draw upon my conceptual thinking and then apply my design skills to produce a strong effective outcome.
