Fáilte chuig Eagrán an Aibreáin, an 22ú iris. Tá na Tráthnóna fada linn anois agus tá an séasúr spórtúil ag eirí arís. Tá an Sraith Shinsir agus sraitheanna na nÓg le thosnú faoi láthair. Ádh mór orthu go léir. Bain sult as an iris seo!

APRIL SHOWERS

Féile Preview This year’s Féile Peile na nÓg 2017 will take place in the 3 counties of Cavan, Monaghan, and Fermanagh at the end of June. This festival of U14 football has come a long way since it’s humble beginnings in Cavan 1982 when Tony Looney(Cavan Gaels) and Fintan Tierney(Butlersbridge) hatched an idea which has grown over the years to become a huge event, with some 250 boys and girls teams, 5000 players, playing for trophies across 16 divisions. Teams from all over Ireland as well as from the UK and the US will converge on the 3 counties on the weekend of Fri.23rd to Sun 25th June. This year Cavan Gaels will play and host a boy’s team from Tipperary and a girl’s team from Offaly. Preparations are already underway to arrange host families for our guests and ensure a warm welcome for all our visitors. Mol an Óige agus tiocfaidh sí.

Condolences Noreen O’Donoghue, Abbey St. Mickey Walsh, Park Lane. Séan Boyle, Cullies.

SEANFHOCAL Is maith Comhairle, ach is fearr Cabhair: Advice is good but Help is better.

TORNADOES Every Saturday at 11am. Terry Coyle Park.

PLAYER Profile JAMES VEALE DOB: 8th May 1997

Honours: • U12 and U21 Championship • Brock, Rannafast and MacRory winner with St.Pats.

What is your outstanding memory from your GAA career to date? Without a doubt it’s winning the U21 Championship this year. Up to then I hadn’t won a lot with the club and the fact nobody gave us a chance made the win ever sweeter. If you could revisit one moment from your career and change it, which moment would you choose and why? I would have loved to been more successful with the Gaels underage, especially U16 and minor. It would have been nice to win Corn na nOg with St. Pats too, completing a clean sweep of Ulster secondary school football titles. Who was your toughest opponent? Thomas Galligan . What’s the most you have ever scored in one game? 3-4 vs Ramor underage. What 3 people, dead or alive, would you invite to a dinner party? Casey Neistat, Bill Gates, Nelson Mandela. What would you like to change about your game? Shooting. What are you hobbies and interest outside GAA Music, soccer, basketball, golf and the gym. Whats the best piece of advice you ever received? It would either be “live in the moment” or “only do the things that you enjoy doing”. Whats your favourite GAA memory? Owen Mulligan’s iconic dummy goal vs Dublin. Who is the best hurler and footballer you have ever seen? Colm Cooper and Henry Shefflin.
