hroughout February the new Gresford NSW website will be ‘live testing’ and this is your opportunity to participate and have your business or event listed. The site will be updated and modified to include information and suggestions from the Gresford community, visitors and website users. In particular if you are an event organiser or business/service provider there are forms provided on the site to submit details for inclusion in the calendar listings and service directory. The website is an initiative of the Gresford Community Group, who sought and received funding for the development of the site from the NSW Government through the Small Communities Awareness Fund, Department of Primary Industries, Office of Rural Affairs. The site, designed by Jane Richens and Brian Doherty of Tabbil Forest Design, aims to be a central contact point for information on events, organisations and community issues, highlighting local services and attractions. The Community Group believes the website will play a role in increasing visitation to the region but also promote local businesses to the community and provide lots of information that locals will find useful, especially the new arrivals. Content on the site already includes maps of the area, weather information, historical information event and meeting calendars (a must if you are planning something), major events listings and business and services directory. The Community Group would like the site to be as inclusive as possible so all listings will initially be free. Down the track charges will apply on a cost recovery basis to keep the site updated. So have a look around, check out what is currently included then use the forms provided to send in your suggestions, changes and listings.
