It is expected that North Carolina’s government will start considering the formation of their own such committee next year.

Michigan’s Carbon-Neutrality Michigan’s governor has just established an ambitious plan for climate preservation. The over-arching goal is for the state to achieve complete carbon-neutrality by 2050. This makes Michigan America’s ninth state to aim for this specific target. All state buildings will be required to be carbon neutral by 2040, with their energy use cut down by 40%.

The Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy is now required to devise a plan for meeting this goal by the close of 2021. The plan is expected to drive growth of jobs and opportunities in the clean energy sector.
