Zillow’s report also shows that solar panels raise a home’s value by about 4.1% (national average). That amounts to $9,274 for a median-value home. In some areas, like New York, that lift can rise to 5.4%, or $23,989. So the stats are clear: adding a solar system over winter will elevate a home’s selling price and make it a much more compelling candidate for today’s energy-prioritizing buyers.
